- I want you to read this to me, the old man asks.
- What is it i reply, still curious as always.
- You want to know the secrets to the ancient past, i want to know if you can see.
So i read the story to the old man,a story about noblest of them all. When i finished the old man asked.
- Tell me the story you read, with your own words.
So i did, every last word.
- No, he said, go home and come back tomorrow, read the story again, to me.
So i went home, wondered what he meant, i told the story picture perfect in every way.
-------------------------------------------------
The next day
He sat under a willow tree, and said.
- Read the story to me.
So i did, when i finished, i felt i knew it all.
And the old man said;
- Tell me the story you read, with your own words.
So i did yet again, every word from top to toe.
- No, he said, go home and come back tomorrow, read the story again, to me.
I went home, annoyed, why is he troubling me, i do what he asks, and yet it is not enough.
--------------------------------------
The next day, the old man sits under a bridge of steel.
- Read the story to me, he says.
So i pick up the book, and say.
- Its the same story, it will not change, you will ask the same again.
- Open the book; he replies, read it again.
- Tell me what does it say,
And all of a sudden the story unfolds.
I told him the story which was inside, and he said; Now read all the secrets to the ancient past, cause the future is what you decide.
