MARRERO, La. - A suspect fired several shots at an occupied law enforcement vehicle Tuesday night while the undercover unit was on patrol in a high-crime area, according to Sheriff Newell Normand.

The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. in Marrero near James and Jordan Drives.

WWL TV in New Orleans

Similar to the one in Massachusetts, car fired on while officers were inside.

My inner conspiracy theorist is getting agitated.

You know what I see? I see eventual imposition of martial law, indefinite suspension of constitutional government (for our own good, of course), then cessation of the electoral process.

Naw, just joking. Never happen in 'Murica.

While I'm not apt to think these things in a positive light, it would be rather alarmist to think that besides the obvious media sensationalism that happens to propagandize these tinderbox events, those that can think rationally perhaps might not be so irrational in their decisions and perhaps not see a need to put "tanks on bridges" in our inner cities.

But then again, America. Home, sweet home.
