The Harmonie Lodges were formed in order to promote a specific thing.
Those who responded to that well, were "tapped" for something else.
The book "The End of Enlightenment in France" is telling in many ways, it's title the saddest.

That being said, there are two types of Lodges, or Systems - speculative, and operative.
That means exactly that.
"Regular" is a speculative term.

Just coming on a thread about a specific society, and only saying "study chemistry" really doesn't help the conversation.

How exactly do you imply that simply studying chemistry will lead one to answers about the Societies de l'Harmonie, specifically the OP's question as to if "they are still around?" I can't wait to hear how that's supposed to work, unless, of course, it was an off-topic post.
