Quick shopping for lolls. I had to fix it and post it here asap.

In case anyone is wondering, i use the Gnu image manipulation program. GIMP for short.

Original thread here. www.abovetopsecret.com...

Original image from Sublimecraft.

After a few minutes of play.

I don't get it, is this suppose to be a picture of a UFO or just pretty lighting strike?

It is a manipulated version of a supposed UFO photo circulating right now.

It is missing the UFO.

Yes, its the fist of god flexing his might.

I thought it would be fun to edit it a bit. Wish i had taken more time to blend the clouds in.

Go back to the OP, it has the one currently circulating the net claiming UFO. It has a circle on it by Sub, pointing out an artifact.

First attempt.

Second attempt.

What do you think? I tried to make the second one a bit more natural looking.

I don't do much in the way of picture manipulation. I use gimp for creating web objects mostly so its a bit out of my real of expertise.

I think it is better to just 'patch' it with content already in the picture. That way it looks more natural (to me at least). How about this:

Very nice good sir, well done.

I tried to play with the clone tool but could not get it to work right. Also i couldn't get the color picker to work it always chose black for some reason.

Could it be because of the fact ii added a transparent layer instead of manipulating the actual image?

Oh, I am sorry, I forgot to mention that I used the patch tool in Cyberlink's PhotoDirector6, I have no experience with GIMP - I never could get it to run on my PC.

So I could not say how it is done in GIMP. But yes, I would imagine that you should manipulate the actual picture rather than adding a layer.

:-)

I see that DupontDeux already mentioned it, but I used Photoshop with some clone stamping, layer blending, and that's pretty much it. It gives a more natural appearance. Here's my 5-minute go at it--I left the central tree at the bottom, but removed the boats:

Very cool guys. I love learning about new softwares and methods.

I am going to have to try out actual photoshop and photodirector some time when i have the money.
