So if that's 11' tall then the guys holding them must also be 11' tall. Interesting.

They look like giant candles.... maybe the copper was used to contain fuel for night lights...

Do you think it could be a musical instrument, capable of delivering a solemn, "mystical" note?

Hmmm, now you've got me thinking! Resonance emanating from this 'instrument' to enable levitation? There are winged people in the carvings. There are people in "boxes" which are surrounded by vibratory-looking lines, and the boxes appear to be off the ground. Also, this concept reminds me of a theory of how the huge stones to build the pyramids may have been lifted off the ground... by sound waves/resonance.

Interesting to ponder, no?

I see a similarity between the far end of the staff where it flares out to a larger diameter, like the mouth of a vase and the Egyptian Ra Boat traversing the Solar passage. One end of the boat has an identical feature and the head of a god is sticking out of it.

Amazing find, I think the electrical conductivity must be a key feature since they're using copper. The loops seems to have served some purpose. It looks like they had many of them at regular intervals, that may also be important to discovering what they were doing with these.

That's quite a bit of copper, must have been darn important!

Interesting idea.
I've heard the Tibetan monks do something similar using large "horns" for lack of a more precise term.

If those standards were 11 feet tall, then it seems some of those people holding them were just as tall as the standards. Notice how the figure in the shrine is much smaller than the beings holding the standard, or the being all the way to the left which seems to be just as tall as the standards as well.

1.21 Gigawatts? Lightning rods?

Even if they were for another use, on occasion they would attract lightning as they must've known.

Oh yeah, I've heard of that too.
There is just so much to know, if only we could read the minds of those that came before us! I can just imagine the ancients carving messages to the future, saying "surely they'll get the idea if we put all these clues in there in picture form since their language will be different..." And here we are like monkeys trying to figure out what the man is saying, lol...

I've never considered that what makes you think they might have been capable...?

Sitchin of course on the evidence from seals thought they were for inter-stellar broadcasting, but he wouldn't have known they'd found one. My initial consideration is that they were to attract lightning being plated with copper.

During the rectification of the Vuldrini, the traveler came as a large and moving Torg! Then, during the third reconciliation of the last of the McKetrick supplicants, they chose a new form for him: that of a giant Slor! Many Shuvs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Slor that day, I can tell you.

s&f Nice thread as always.

It really does resemble one of the items as shown being held in the pictographs. Wonder if maybe those as well as others displayed in pictographs were communication tools to their Gods or were they may have been 'electrically' fed such as the "dendera lights" of Egypt. To say whether as electrical devices or just musical, they had functionality over being similar to a hand held staff.

this is a nice old power pole for what is known as a star gate...

Who says there's no disclosure going on?

can u dig it???

Nice theory but I'd hardly call this disclosure considering this artefact was discovered in the 19th century and hasn't been seen since.

I'm guessing that when they looked at the cylinder seals and see the 11' foot men hold these things then it got buried in the Vatican.

See it is disclosure supposedly this was lost but now it's being shown...

it's safe to share seeing as operating star gates are now in working order...

No more worries so why not show it off now?

I would say it appears that the big guys are not men holding them...

the man is inside the gate being escorted...

the reason for the fuZZy liquid like state is because the guys who were not human were neither here nor there...

'When above the heavens did not yet exist nor the earth below, Apsu the freshwater ocean was there, the first, the begetter, and Tiamat, the saltwater sea, she who bore them all; they were still mixing their waters, and no pasture land had yet been formed, nor even a reed marsh…"

This comes from the Enuma Elish. Apparently there were ancient banks that held water that houses some of the deities worshipped at that time. There is a linkage through the desert religions using 'holy wagger' to bathe and cleanse with.

The early Gods were said to return to the sea each night and later men depicting their authoritative role in society wore coats of fish-like scales with the fish-head as a hat (these are well known from beautiful carvings etc.

I want to throw a spanner here and pose the question was it possible that the afterlife or 'heaven' was not actually in the cosmic sky but thought to be under the water. I wonder, simply because were the cosmic underworld in the sky why use fish in so much of its iconography and not the obvious, birds? It is at all possible we have the wrong take on what the ancients thought? (I think I should run for cover at this point).

Yes the only references to it are those here and the photograph is from Royal Statuary of Early Dynastic Mesopotamia by Gianni Marchesi and Nicolò Marchetti, so it was noted as found in the earliest excavations in Mesopotamia but were it got to is anyone's guess, should have been restored and the centre piece of any museum.

It was from Girsu as was the Gudea libation cup were Ningizhidra is seen holding an example of one.

a reply to: DISRAELI

No i think what was found would have been one of the actual standards that stood alongside the Abzu shrine at Girsu and not a scaled down replica, which might give some indication the shrine entrance was of a similar height and not grandiose in scale.

a reply to: Vroomfondel

Yes those were my first impressions also that it would have conducted electricity, possibly as a lightning attractor though i expect a bolt might have blown it to pieces...

a reply to: Wide-Eyes

That's true, only seen held by Divine Beings also 11 feet tall or larger, scary guardian types.

While I find this artifact interesting, the sad thing is this will be destroyed by ISIS if they were not stopped.

*sigh* this makes me very sad and angry at the same time. How can anyone justify destroying our own history?

This world just plain sucks
