The Inspector General for the CIA apparently "resigned" a few months ago, and oddly, The Obama Administration has yet to name a replacement.

Can't imaging why. There must be a perfectly sound reason.

Obama's been hot on the low down about all those Inspectors Generals.

I suppose it *Could* be they are screening for the best possible qualified person.

Hmmm.

White House criticized for not filling watchdog post at CIA

More than six months after the CIA inspector general resigned, President Obama has yet to nominate a replacement, prompting mounting concerns on Capitol Hill that the delay may be affecting sensitive internal investigations — including a probe into an errant drone strike in Pakistan that killed American hostage Warren Weinstein, sources told Yahoo News.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein, the ranking Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee, in June urged Obama in a letter to nominate a new inspector general “as soon as possible,” so a Senate-confirmed official can oversee what she described as “highly sensitive investigations of interest to the committee.”

But the White House has yet to even respond to the letter, or float any names of a possible nominee, another indicator of what watchdog groups say is a troubling resistance on the administration’s part to aggressive oversight and accountability throughout the government, but especially within the intelligence community.

Hmmm... one might easily think they don't want anyone in that position to watch over them... oh wait! That's exactly what I think -- no "might" about it!!!

The Inspector General only investigates and reports on internal matters of the CIA. Just wanted to make sure that was clear if you were implying anything other than the CIA.

Also, it could be that Obama is having a hard time finding someone to fill the position because Obama has not been kind to the CIA regarding certain actions they had taken.

Duly noted; but I'm not sure that mitigates the concerns. The CIA works for/at the behest of the administration, so obviously internal investigations and scrutiny could and would reveal much the administration may not want revealed; and it is already creating --

Even from Obama's own party peeps:

Xue,

No one to ultimately oversee those who are operating in secret.
Convenient way to keep cover for operations like Fast and Furious,
Gun Running, etc.

Well, of course this is how it goes. They set these things up with the promise there will be oversight. They neglect to mention that the only mechanism that will exist to make sure that oversight is maintained is polite criticism when it is not. Oh no! Not that! Please don't criticize them!

Later on (A week or a month or two years or a decade later) when the public has forgotten all about it, they can test the waters.
