'Stalk them and kill them,' Farrakhan says, calling for 10,000 volunteers to kill whites.

He sure looks good for an 82 year old man. I wonder what his secret is.

Hair dye and white baby blood probably!

What a guy! Who needs IS when you have home grown mad men like this?

It could seriously be argued he is inciting his followers to acts of terrorism against the U.S.

That is one of the most socially destructive speeches I have heard in the modern era.

I don't think inciting people to commit murder is protected speech.

You are correct.

US law:
The ‘Brandenburg test’ for incitement to violence
In 1969, the U.S. Supreme Court made history by ruling that, to merit conviction, the violence advocated must be intended, likely and imminent ...
the Court held: “Freedoms of speech and press do not permit a State to forbid advocacy of the use of force or of law violation except where such advocacy is directed to inciting or producing imminent lawless action and is likely to incite or produce such action.”
freespeechdebate.com...

International law:
Generally speaking, “incitement” means encouraging or persuading another to commit an offense by way of communication, for example by employing broadcasts, publications, drawings, images, or speeches. It is “public” under international law if it is communicated to a number of individuals in a public place or to members of a population at large by such means as the mass media. Among other things, its "public" nature distinguishes it from an act of private incitement (which could be punishable under the Genocide Convention as “complicity in genocide” or possibly not punishable at all). Incitement to genocide must also be proven to be “direct,” meaning that both the speaker and the listener understand the speech to be a call to action.
www.ushmm.org...

Calling for the killing of all people of a certain race
is a call for genocide, it can be no clearer than that,
and most likely meets the criteria for a hate crime
if the incitement is carried out.

I too wonder how the media
and the Obama administration
would react if the
preacher were white and Christian
and called for the murder of all black people.
There is absolutely a double standard of
what the mainstream media will and will
not report on,
and what makes them angry.
It also makes it look like
the Obama administration,
through their silence,
is giving tacit support
to Farrakahn and his rantings,
even if that is not the case.

Yep, I think was have to wait for actual bullets to start flying before we can classify this a hate speech.

lets hope enough people in the black community fully grasp what a total asshat Farrakhan really is.

Someone will have to die as a direct result of his speech to classify it "hate speech".

As always lets be reactive rather than proactive.

It is better to be reactive.

Think about it. There are an awful lot of people who find an awful lot of speech to be "hate" speech these days and would make the argument that it incites violence.

There have been plenty of threads about conservative speech and the Louisiana Theatre shooting for example.

Do you really think we ought to go there? I'd rather not be rounded up simply for holding the "wrong" views as far as the rest of fearful little old society is concerned.

And sooner or later that attitude will come back to bite you too although you may not realize it.

Unfortunately in US law, something like this can not be proactively prosecuted.

Beezer is correct, someone has to carry out the killing of white people and say it was because of Farrakhan's call to genocide of white people. Then it can be prosecuted. That is the law.

So people have to die or be injured before incitement can be prosecuted in the US.

Can't believe there are people on ATS who are defending this call to genocide of white people. How utterly depraved to defend Farrakhan on this.

Why? Because there is a cult like group? Therefor all blacks = savages?

The KKK?

And this is why I have to distance myself from members of my own race.

Never once in the video posted by the op does he call for 10K to kill whites. He calls for 10K to kill those who kill us. He is obviously talking about the police and last time I checked the police forces aren't a white only organization. He was talking about Dylann Roof when he mentioned the hamburger because after Roof was arrested he said he was hungry so the cops treated him with a meal from burger king.

He said "while white folks buy him a hamburger".

Well I will never see you beautiful people as that word. It is just some extremist crazy guy trying to ruin race relations. People are too bright in the main these days to go labelling the whole for the behaviour of a few extremists (I hope).

You know though, if we just got all the violent racial and religious groups and other groups. Groups that openly state they want to kill everyone else for not being them, and put them in a cordoned off area with their guns, knives and bombs and let them have at ... It would reduce the problem significantly for the rest of us when all was said and done.

In my opinion, and that is all it is.

When someone defends the right of an important national figure/leader
to call for the mass murder of
police (as some suggest)
or of all people who are of a certain racial group they don't like.

That is, to me, and in my opinion, defending a call to genocide
as acceptable under free speech laws.
I do not find it acceptable to call for the genocide of
a group of people I do not like, regardless of if it is legal
until a member of the group acts upon it.

To me, and in my opinion,
defending the right for a national leader to call for genocide
is morally reprehensible,
I personally can find no reason to support the free speech
rights of someone calling for their followers to commit
genocide of any group.

The chief justice said that no one has a right
to yell fire in a crowded theater.
In my humble opinion, no one, using free speech
as a cover, has the right to call for genocide
when they have as large and public a following
as Far. does and is a well known national leader.

I understand there is very little if anything that can be done. What angers me is so many feel violence is the answer. The answer to many of our social problems is simply respect.

Respect each other and respect yourself.

People just need to stop blaming others most of the time if you look at yourself you will see the problem but you will often discover the solution.
