By "the rabbit hole", I'm talking about an uncensored, thorough search for truth as far as that takes you. Do you think it's dangerous?

As someone that has pursued "the rabbit hole" diligently for well over a decade, I think it's quite dangerous. Here are a couple of quotes (paraphrased) that I recall that sum up my feelings on the topic:

"There are a bunch of dead rabbits at the bottom of the rabbit hole."

"If an average person was exposed to the full impact of the truth on (ATS-like website), it would literally kill them."

If you can't relate to the above, then start here:

whale.to...

That site is a good introduction to the "rabbit hole." If you're honest with yourself, I think you'll feel it getting dangerous at some point. That's my conclusion.

There are no rabbit holes. At least, nothing you can navigate. Its all so full of insanity, proffered by insane people, mixed with intentional obfuscation, and topped off with complete ignorance of any kernel of real truth being identified.

The danger is you will end up looking like a lunatic to the world around you, will end up being inappropriately paranoid about losing your quality of life (to a point that, ironically, you impact your quality of life), and will look up years later and realize you have come no closer to any "truth", and have wasted a vast chunk of your life studying complete lies hoping to find said "truth".

I think it is dangerous.

People can become overwhelmed by too much information, and end up biting off more then they can chew. There are elements of the unknown that one needs to become comfortable with.Reality can be stranger then fiction...

Some of those links will be true, some will have partial truths, most will be false. However, if someone that is not used to coming across information like that -did -and they are impressionable in general (at some point all of us here didn't know what a conspiracy theory was), it could overwhelm them. Upset them. Don't think it would kill them.

You ruin my signature, there are rabbit holes. Most lead nowhere. Some do lead to unexpected places.

What is all this talk of rabbit holes?

Lol, it is really a process of discovery, learning how the world really works. It is ultimate realism and I'm an ultimate realist. Can't say I have ever been down any kind of metaphorical rabbit hole. I have quaked in my boots at certain discovered truths at times.

Curiouser and curiouser!!!

Wow! I love that song. "Feed your head"! Sound advice.

Merry go round and round...

Sometimes i get scared, especially when i learn something like, did you know some of your actions are based on childhood trauma and, and when you recognize indoctrination and programs in your mind, that someone has placed there for some reason or another,
take religion for and obvious example.

I consider "the Rabbit hole" dangerous, not because of what you might find out, but because it can turn a person into a paranoid nut job, pretty soon it can take over your life, not good.

But that being said, I do think there are some comparacy's theories that are valid, one's I'll never let go of. I don't need to list them, that's not what this topic is.

I also don't think anybody is going to find the answer to anything on the net. If you spend most of your day trying to get to the truth about JFK, 9/11 or Aliens, you need to back away from your computer and go for a walk.

The rabbit hole is where I live, actually.

Kindly take your business elsewhere, thank you.

Sounds like a university education. At least here, the tuition's free.

It depends on what is down there with the rabbits? Scorpions, snakes and spiders....yeah dangerous....little puppies, kittens and fluffy little bunnies...not so dangerous.

or you might just drown in your own tears and fears or they may just disappear you.

The rabbit hole itself and the white rabbit are often symbols.

I tend to treat everything like it's in a novel. It's only in the dark that I consider what I really think about it all. To do otherwise would make me utterly crazy and unbalance my zen.

The end of the rabbit hole is nihilism and groundlessness. The only way out is to die down there, crawl back up through the same hole you fell down, or dig yourself out sideways.
