They should just pass draconian gun laws like Chicago or Detroit or California.

Or, they could make murder illegal. I don't understand why the govt can't just pass some laws to stop people killing each other! Seems kind of simple.

Maybe the good citizens of B'More need to be educated on the law.

It seems that big cities are magnets and full of people wanting to live a life of Government subsistence living, Government employees and gangs. They are also considered Democratic heartlands and so have high cost of living, high taxes and and strict gun control...

I can't see how all that is not the perfect recipe for a wonderful life.

It could be the police are laying back and not policing the tough neighborhoods just to make a point. I would be curious if the majority of these killings are coming from black on black crime. If they are, than they're only giving credibility to the accusation there is more violent crime coming from the black community.

This is the way I see it. (tinfoil hat time!)

Government has looked at the decrease in violence. They see a correlation between gun freedoms and low violence.

They don't like that.

They then create an atmosphere where violence will occur and when it does, they get more excited than a Viagra test subject.

This way, they can create more laws and more restrictions and more "need" for government.

I live 15 minutes from Portland, actually a pretty nice city, BUT it would suck to need to live there. I did spend 5 weeks down in San Diego, and once again, it looked like a place I would never want to live there 24/7. A big part is I can live in a huge house with land 15 minutes away, pay 25k less taxes per year and not have to deal with 100 stinks as you walk down the streets. For me to live in the city my quality of life would go way down, way down...
