The only person punished with suicide crime is an assistant, don't see the comparison.

Which states? You can be jailed for mental health evaluation with family and doctor permission perhaps for Attempted suicide. But which states send you to prison?

I'm a lapsed Catholic who believes in God but has a cynical view of the church but when I read what you posted it just reminds me of the good people there are involved in the church. Great post.

Another woman, Bei Bei Shuai, has been imprisoned for the last three months without bail in Indianapolis, Indiana, charged with murdering her baby. According to police records, the 34-year-old woman attempted suicide last December 23 by ingesting rat poison after her boyfriend abandoned her when she was 33 weeks pregnant. Shuai was rushed to the hospital and survived, giving birth to her baby the next week. The baby died four days later, and in March Shuai was charged with murder and attempted feticide.

As I just stated in the PP defunding thread, Republicans need lots of poor and uneducated people to vote for them, that's why they're so militantly against abortion and birth control. It has nothing to do with life, they have no problem with all the people that the military, big business, police, etc kill each day. The GOP is the party of oppression, torture and death.

I had a professor in College (she taught Existentialist Theory) and we were discussing abortion in class. The abortion rights movement grew out of French Existentialism - where the - please forgive them - personal is the political.

Her answer to the question of why is it that it is men that lead these rabid anti-abortion groups and commit the related crimes. I don't agree with her response - but I do think there is something to it - "Men are afraid (after the fact) that if abortion was safe and legal that their mothers might (might!!!!) have aborted them"

How sad is that - that grown men can be so insecure in themselves that then imagine that their mothers would have not wanted them. No reason involved - how would a mother know in advance (though many men do expect women to read their minds) that they specifically was going to be born and be a deep disappointment to their mothers and there fore would have aborted them.

It's a privacy issue (progressive) - it's a sovreignity issue (conservative) - it's a personal decision that does not effect the community or the state (GC arguement about 'cannon fodder' not withstanding). Nothing that is not viable (able to live on it's own) is not a 'person'.

How does all that show Republicans need lots of poor and uneducated people to vote for them?

Sounds backwards.

So what is your solution to the problem of unwanted pregnancies?

What is your solution for your hatred towards Catholics?

What is your solution for your hatred towards Republicans?

Hate begets hate, and you are full of it.

Empower women around the globe without exception with free and easily accessable birth control and education.

What do you hate so much about women?

She does have a point but unfortunately Marxism has run amok in religious institutions and especially the Catholic Church where Christian socialism has been promoted as an alternative to the real ministry and teachings of Christ. Christ demonstrated the law of precipitation from the Universal Supply in the multiplication of the loaves and fishes, he did not demonstrate the seizing of people's abundance by the State in order to redistribute according to the wishes of a powerful controlling elite.

You believe your opinion is not worth much because it is not.

This is a classical example of what grown-ups call a circular reason or a tautology. Look it up!!!! Learn something!!!!

Wait you're honestly going to with a straight face blame the world's ills on pro-lifers as if they have any more power than you to magically make the world a better place? If they had that kind of power, obviously abortion would be illegal, the fact that it isn't shows what little power and influence they have.

I don't think that's what she said at all. But if so called pro-lifers acted on taking care of these born 'unwanted' children the world would be a little better place.

Not that hard, play the ball not the player. My opinion means as much as yours, not much, its just fun to see people be full of themselves.

You must have missed the 2 or 3 times i said i was against abortions, so know if your not planing on getting an abortion why do you need to share how you fell about it.

MB for the same reason you feel the need to share yours? Because obvious or not, you are sharing your opinion.

I know what you said and I think probably why you said it. I just wanted to see how your logic works the other way around. I might add that the Progressive ruling elites are as Malthusian as any Republican, in that they are interested in depopulating the world, you know as in the famed Club of Rome study "Limits To Growth". The ultimate goal of Agenda 21 is to depopulate the earth to around 500 million people, and to limit everyone's resources to accomplish that.

The false assumption being that we don't want a social safety net. The truth is that we want one that actually works, meaning we want one that actually is a true hand up to self-sufficiency and NOT a perpetual hand out which is what we have.

And why is it again that I never hear any specifics or see any pracical legislation for these "hand-up" social safety net. Because the programs that work are coming from the 'progressive' side of the aisle - most noteably in local contexts.

When I start hearing something that makes sense and actually will help real people then you can scream as loud as you are wont about 'social safety net that works'.

Social programs since the New Deal have always been a bandaid not a real solution. New Deal programs were instituted during the Great Depression as a way to help people who were suffering through no fault of their own. Still I have heard that FDR was a 33rd degree Mason and I'm sorry to say I think he was part of the ruling elite who invented socialist means as a way to control the masses. Crony Capitalism and Communism are opposite sides of the same coin used by the Elites in their Hegelian control.
