This video really clarifies that Trump is genuine. He certainly could fool us, he is that clever, but I think there is a lot to be impressed by in his attitude and forthright responses.

wait, what?!?

So a sleazy pitch man is self aggrandizing during an interview in 1988, and that is relevant to today how?

You can like or dislike his views but I find his direct answers a nice change from all the other politicians that dodge every question.

Um....Because an interview from 27 years ago is relevant today....Duh...

Some people's kids bring up garbage that means nothing from 3 decades ago all the time and try to make it relevant information....What a joke

I heard that he didn't flush the toilet once when he was 12. He's obviously hell bent on watching the world burn.

Is your response in favor of bringing this forward or not? Didn't quite get the last part.

This video is absolutely relevant! (maybe you didn't watch it if you think not!)-This comment in response to FatFurryTexan

Ah hell, why not elect him. The Democrats will just use the same script the Republicans used with Obama -- they'll band together and block anything Trump tries to do. They'll demonize his every action, and criticize his over involvement, or lack of involvement in everything. They'll blame everything from it raining to their dog dying on Trump. Trump cause me to spill my coffee, Trump caused my tire to go flat...ect.

It'll be the same thing, with a different guy in the Oval Office getting nothing done.

So, yeah, why not. It's not like he can screw with anything when congress is on lock down.

So you think Trump bared his soul for us on an interview with Oprah? Donald Trump?

THis is what The Donald was known for in the late 80's:

www.people.com...

and

www.newsweek.com...

Hilarious...he was most famous for being a lousy husband and a businessman who grew too big for his britches. Now he's relaunched and rebranded as...what, exactly?

Megalomania knows no bounds.

As long as the funds hold out, they'll sell him all the airtime he wants to blow his trumpet during election season.

Does anyone care what he thinks the rest of the time?

Trump is part and parcel of the crony problem. That's the real reason we shouldn't even consider him.

Additionally, there is no underlying reform in anything he has ever said near as I can remember.

It's all just boisterous, occasionally cringeworthy, blather.

I am holding judgement until I see the debates. If I have to listen to a bunch of verbal garbage, rehashed, politically correct, canned responses at another debate, and Trump is the only one that speaks freely and says what I want to hear then, yes, I'll take the overtly cocky billionaire.

A good majority of those running are cocky bastards to be sure. You don't run for the highest office and not have big ones!
They just play that game by the established rules and he doesn't.

Who would be in favor of bringing something up from 30 years ago? When you apply for a job do you tell them you smoked a joint when you where 14 if you are 44 years old? I didn't think so, who gives a flying fornication what he said 3 decades ago?? People change, come up with different views, alter their personality sometimes for the better and sometimes not...But either way something said 30 years ago is irrelevant in my eyes...

He was cute! Even his hair.

Sorry...that's irrelevant to the topic. I did find his theme to "make America great again" was visible even back then.

So crony capitalism is not your thing, (by the way CC has now become the go-to attack words to anyone that works hard, makes a lot of money and finds ways to go bigger.) You would rather we all make similar livings and give 50% back? Better close the borders then, because the hard working middle class will be the ones getting demolished by a socialistic agenda.

He wants to build a wall. Now I don't think that realistic in the least, but you said that he has not offered one reform. He has said many things that he would do, cringeworthy maybe, but its out there on video. Capitalism is a natural state. (and not all capitalists practice cronyism). Those that work hard are rewarded, those that don't aren't. Ask the Russians.

I thought Trump was a joke. I thought he was just stirring the pot and trying to take a few votes away from Hillary.

Now, it almost looks like he has some momentum. And Hillary looks to be loosing her Teflon coating.

I don't think I can really take Trump seriously, but if he did win, it would be really interesting to see how he reacts to the job and it's pressures.

So basically nothing is relevant to you. Yesterday was history just as much as 27 years ago was frankly. Why this video is relevant is he has not changed his rhetoric in 27 years.......a man that stands for what he thinks and doesn't dither. He is running for President, didn't you know? Edit to add: it was quite interesting to hear his opinion of "if" he ever ran.
