All considered, they probably are illegals. A lot of that really does happen in Florida, and who jumps off a boat like that and scatters otherwise? No swimwear, and going off like that, is pretty suspicious. Shame no one was around to arrest them.

There is no difference. Ask all the American Indians if the original colonists were legally coming to this country...If they weren't all killed off I'm sure they would call us the illegal immigrants. Heck maybe we can go to the few Indian reservations around in the US and conduct a poll. The only people who considered it "legal" as you say were the ones flocking to America. While I understand hyperbole and appreciate it more than the next man, there is also a real conversation that needs to be had. This country was made great by it's millions of legal immigrants....hopefully we can get back to a system that allows for welcoming legal immigrants to our great country.

That's the thing, though; there wasn't a country when the European settlers arrived. There were a lot of scattered tribes, warring with one another as often as not. Plus, both sides share some of the blame in the later issues. For the record, I have ancestors from both sides of the ocean.

Oh, don't forget, the Cherokee legends talk of driving out white men from the Southeast when they first settled there. There are also remains from all of the races, that are much older than the Amerind peoples, that were found in the Americas. So, it's far from certain who was where first. Other than being interesting historically, it isn't relevant to the current country.

The issue now is that we have far too many illegal aliens flocking in, and far too many legals, in some cases, as well. The county should not be expected to accept whomever. We aren't in need of citizenry at this stage, to settle the nation. Looking to immigrants who are already educated, and would be a benefit, makes far more sense.

If American Indians could go back in time and prevent European immigrants I think they would. Are you suggesting we should make the same mistake they did?
