After being called a bootlicker and told I openly advocate cops killing you for not being polite, my patience is just about gone. Now you really need to feel special here, and I truly hope this does the trick.
Now, please, make your own way in life, don't let my thread on ATS damage your in any way. If you really want, I can ask a mod to delete it.

Dude, you win. I was #ing wrong. So #ing wrong.
I made a mistake. I said "Treat humans like humans, respect others to get respect, and be nice whenever possible. It really does work.", and as I later stated in a post, one time it didn't.

The point is a cop is TRAINED to do his job calmly and professionally when dealing with freak, insane, drunk, drugged and every other kind.
Their job does not just require they act professional and non aggressive when dealing with the meek and humble in society.

This honestly hurts my soul. We've reached a point where we are forced to perceive the police as dangerous thugs who we need to cower to just to avoid being summarily and arbitrarily beaten or executed in the street?
I'm not the brightest guy in town, but to me that is pretty much the definition of a tyranny.

Now that's great advice. I believe I will ignore you, have a beer and not worry about silly people who need attention.
cheers!

You are correct. They are supposed to be above all the anger and petty feelings we humans have. And lately, there is a lot of negativity towards LEOs.
I only offered an idea in hopes that at least one person would walk away from this and if they encountered a cop, they might remember it, and be nice.
As much as cops are supposed to be machines and perfect, I have the sneaking suspicion they are human under that uniform. And not knowing what that cop may have dealt with recently, I think it would be a nice thing to just treat them with a little respect. Should he turn out to be human, it might make him have a better day. Hell, it might make him not stop the next guy for having no front licence plate or some chickencrap reason.
I am sorry this thread made so many of you angry. I have a neighbor who grew up across the street from me and became a deputy sherriff. To me his is just a kid. 22 or 23 I think. But not long ago, he had to kill a man. I don't know how he feels about that today, but I know it would bother me for a while. So I tend to think of how others might benefit from something really simple that I could do. I had no idea that presenting an idea like this would be so adversarial. Hell, I even said people had all the right in the world to be as mean as they liked.
I am not meaning to vent on you, just putting this out for all.

Because alcohol will fix everything, right?
I'm disgusted with that attitude and I feel sorry for you.
I wonder what that's like....work.
