Well not a challenge, just some fun. Been playing some blues and somehow the words just fell into place.
Who wants to add to it?

I got stones in my shoes
leaving the blues on my bruise
when I walk back to you

I get stones in my shoes
even when having conversation with you

I got pains in my heart
from a rocky start
wish I could start something new

(turn around)

I got rocks in my feet
when I'm taking the heat, from you
( you know it baby, you know when you done me wrong)

oooh I got rocks at my feet
making me bleed all over my shoes

Id walk away....
but you know that I'll stay
What's a man gonna do

(turn around)

I put stones in my shoes,
I put rocks in my heart
the stones sing the blues
and we never will part..

I put stones in my socks,
the stones well they're hard
the stones in my shoes, yeah
the stones they are you

Word.
Dig me some blues. Wrote a few ones myself.

well the stones made me fall,
but im back on my feet
time to boogie to the juke,
down on memphis street

i head to the bar,
cause its head cutting time
to the left of the stage,
is that fool billy lyons

stagger lee walks in with all the stones in the world,
and catches billy lyons checking his girl
he pulls out the steel and puts it right to his head,
before anyone knew billy lyons was dead

Love the "blue collar" blues allusion.

Got blues in my sheets
and stones in my feet
the stones in my collar
stained blue...

(by my baby)

...and the man she's gone to meet

Chorus

Oh them stones
tied to a rope on my leg
Oh them stones
forgot that they were this big
Oh them stones
My baby's got me by them
oh them stones
Be home by a quarter to ten

Though I try sometimes
I just cant get away from them

Don't any of you go giving up your day jobs for a career on Tin Pan Alley.

Sure.

Robert Johnson:

Me and the Devil were walkin side by side
I'm gonna beat my woman till I'm satisfied

I got stones in my passway and my way seems black as night
And these pains in my heart, they have taken my appetite.

Albert King:

I can't read, never learnt how to write
My whole life has been one big fight
Born under a bad sign — been down since I began to crawl
If it wasn't for bad luck — I wouldn't have no luck at all.

Howlin' Wolf:

I have had my fun
If I'd never get well no more
I have had my fun
If I never get well no more
Oh, my health is fadin', oh
Oh yes, I'm goin' down slow

I could go on, but you get the drift...

I'm too 'properly' educated to write or sing them convincingly (as are most white rock stars who try to write the blues).

Besides, they don't usually sound like much on paper; you need the performance, the whole package.

Okay, just for you:

Got a Greyhound ticket and a twenty dollar-bill
I just buried my baby up on Cemetery Hill

But this stuff doesn't actually pluck at the heartstrings till you hear it in its musical context.

edit on 13/7/15 by Astyanax because: I admit it.

Too educated to write the blues? I have no idea what you're going on about. You do realize where the blues comes from right?

You had a good start.

Got a greyhound ticket and a 20 dollar bill
I put my baby in the ground just for the thrill
Now I'm on my way down that lonely road
Just me and my boots cause my soul has been sold

My fav bluesman

Skip James

Well, you hear me singin'
This old lonesome song
People, you know these hard times
Can't last us so long

Hm, hm-hm
Hmm, hmm
Hm, hm-hm
Hm, hm-hm, oh Lord
