Apparently the associated press will not be reporting in the field during the Jade Helm 15 operation, but a grass-roots organization known as CounterJadeHelm, a loose-knit band of laypeople will be observing from afar, and reporting any suspicious activity.

This operation gets more and more interesting all the time.

Why would the media be banned from covering a simple military exercise, if that is indeed what it is?

Banning the media only creates more interest for an operation that's already been on the lips of conspiracy theorists for quite some time.

An enormous military "exercise" across a large part of the Southern United States, a part of the country that's been in the news a LOT lately thanks to comments from the likes of Donald Trump, and the media's not allowed to see what's going on?

Top Secret military exercises across large parts of controversial areas don't usually fill me with a lot of confidence about Government transparency.

So glad to hear about counterjadehelm or whatever it is.

I'm sure they will provide ATS with endless amounts of fodder to go nuts over.

"We were sitting here and this humvee drove by and they looked at us and kept going OHMIGOD WHAT DOES IT MEAN"

To which the obvious answer is "martial law" and "Obama wants your guns."

That's the way it is NOW. I think the only reason you guys got a sniff on this one is that they want civilians helping catch the "invaders".

Thats a very slick website for a community activist group...

I'm wondering if its part of a "controlled" oposition or they just had some dollars they wanted to throw to a web dude?

It's less than two thousand troops. Only special forces. 2000 over six states (Colorado dropped out ) is 333 troops per state if you divide them equally. It's not as big a deal as you guys are making it out to be. Not even enough to boost local economies. It's just a much bigger area they are training in but not a hugh operation by any stretch of the imagination.
( and we all know how far imagination can stretch on this site)
I brought this up at the VFW post a few weeks back and no one had even heard about it.
One guy even joked with me saying did you get that off that above top secret site you're always talking about? Ex military and they didn't even hear about this so that tells you it's nothing. These guys all have friends that are still in service.

Ony 200 of the 1200 troops are special forces. The rest is support personnel, some civilian.
