In California USA there is a bird with a huge wing span that builds its nest on the edges of the cliffs there.
They take advantage of the thermals and updrafts created by the wind to soar for hours.
They evolved to be super efficient flyers that hardly expend any energy for the many miles they are scouring for food.
Human encroachment has left them a protected species, and they are constantly being monitored.
