Wow this storm went over our house and it was like nothing I have ever seen.
Just lightning in the clouds here (sorry for the quality rubbish phone) the second video was after 5 mins and it was still going on.
It was very strange and at one point it kept on flashing lightning from the same spot behind a moving cloud.

Not saying Aliens that would have been my Mother saying that.

I miss thunderstorms. When I lived in Saskatchewan, we got plenty. Living in Vancouver, we get none

That's something called heat lightning. You Brits just aren't aware of it because it's not usually hot enough over there for it to happen.

Might be a good time to start selling AC units over there

Ah, heat lightning!

Here's one in New Jersey. We get them more than you do because you guys just don't get that warm very often. Enjoy the show!

Just like that
.
To be honest a little scary
kept on expecting a huge lightning strike like it was building up for one.

"And as he drove on, the rainclouds dragged down the sky after him, for, though he did not know it, Boymonkey was a Rain God. All he knew was that his working days were miserable and he had a succession of lousy holidays. All the clouds knew was that they loved him and wanted to be near him, to cherish him, and to water him."

Douglas Adams ( kind of ?) lol

Lol, hey every God deserves a day off now and then .

I saw people saying it was heat lightning earlier. There's really no such thing as heat lightning. It's a thunderstorm far away reflecting off the clouds there's no thunder because the sound has dissipated .

More on topic I remember a similar storm about fifteen years ago when I was living in rural Lincolnshire.

The lightening was flashing so fast in the clouds it was almost like it was daylight for 8 to 10 seconds at a time.

One of the most amazing moments in my life if truth be told, I have never seen anything like it and doubt I ever will again.
