A surefire way to weed out the idiots

I saw this video the other day... For anyone who can't view the video, a girl is asking another girl a simple question: If you're in a car that's going 80 miles per hour, how long will it take to go 80 miles?



So I decided to ask my mom the same question. Despite being told that I had just given her the answer, and despite asking several times while pausing after the "80 miles" and accenting the "PER HOUR", she went through a whole range of answers including 6 minutes, 8 minutes, 10 minutes, etc etc. Someone else had to eventually tell her the answer.
How are people really this slow? (glorious pun actually not intended)

Go. Go forth and try this on everyone you know. Be warned though, as the results may be alarming.

When this went around before with a blonde woman and her boyfriend asking the question, a guy that I work with asked his wife the same question.
She couldn't get it.

I like to think that intelligence is relative,My step daughter got 12 Gcse's at A or A star, 4 A levels including maths and English and is now well on her way to a predicted first class degree.

She live's in England and still failed to point to Scotland on a map of th UK???

In all fairness she got it the third guess.

I only have one girl left in class so I asked her....
I changed it up when she didn't get it the first time...

I changed it to 50/50. Nope, she still got it wrong.
We had a good laugh when I explained it to her.

P.S. Cute part was when she said if you're going 80 (the 80/80 question) wouldn't you get there faster?

Everyone, even 'geniuses,' have their bad moments.

I have been scared my whole life because IQ testing showed I was at the high end of the curve... if I am among the smartest humanity has to offer, lemme tell ya... we're in real trouble.

To illustrate, I was attempting to hit a switch high up a wall... I stacked stuff on a chair to reach it... as I was straining, the village idiot strolled by me and flicked the switch with his broomhandle.

Sigh...

But it's 80 miles per hour people! No wonder we hope for smarter aliens, tyrants or gods to help us manage.

Different people live in different worlds right here on planet earth .Some watch the news to learn what to believe while others contemplate art and the structures of the universe . You could ask a 1000 2 or 3 year olds the same question but to be fair you wouldn't really expect to get the correct answer would you . She may just be some poor child's mother and has a lot on her plate and one of them may not be math .

It occurs to me that there may also be a conspiracy to suppress the ability to comprehend ideas delivered verbally.

Maybe the original video and this one were both staged so they could get their 15 minutes.
