Back in September of 2013, public pressure forced Congress to block the so-called "Monsanto Protection Act" from becoming law.
But, the GMO industry didn't give up on their fight to deny Americans the right to know what's in our food.
Last week, the Center for Food Safety issued a press release warning that "the Monsanto Protection Act is back, and [it's] worse than ever."
The original legislation would have stripped federal courts of their power to block the sale or planting of genetically-modified crops. The new language would also ban GMO labeling and prevent state and local governments from restricting genetically-engineered crops in any way.
If approved, House Resolution 1599 would make it nearly impossible to regulate GMOs in any way, even if and when those crops are deemed dangerous for consumption.
No matter what your views are on genetically-modified crops, We The People should never give up our rights to monitor and control what ends up in our food supply.
We stopped the Monsanto Protection Act once, and we can do it again. Call Congress and tell them to say "No" to H.R. 1599.

When the TPP passes, people's rights won't "officially" matter anyway.
Monsanto can sue the whole world if they want to, to get their evil way!

This underscores that what the USA has for an economy is not so much capitalism as it is another beast altogether that as of yet does not have a proper designation though some call it "crony capitalism" and others call it corporate-tocracy.
I just call this "organized crime".

Monsanto is going to make it so nothing will grow on the land except their seeds. Once that is accomplished, they will control the world. Considering this is the ultimate deception which leads to domination of everyone eventually, maybe the people who say monsanto is monsatan are right.

Strange isnt it; when law makers want to pass a law and we object they say "if you've done nothing wrong you've got nothing to hide have you?" but these same people do not say to Monsanto, 'if your food is safe you have nothing to hide have you?'
Strange also that in a democracy, the govt has an obligation to provide good government which is in relation to food, making sure the food the nations people eat is safe. What is also odd is why the govt considers the rights of one corporation to over rides the rights of the citizenry to know whether or not they are eating GMO food. After all, they always want us to make health food choices don't they?
