To Escape (Poem)

I shed a million tears,
These water crystals form a screen
Forcing me to see that dream in my eyes.
I want to escape these feelings today?
I want to,
Find a way.
Give me, a way to leave this Earth.

It’s not up to me, it never was.
Others choose a life of emotions.
I chose a path of reason.
Yet I can’t escape these feelings today.
I need to,
Get away.
I still see your picture in my mind.

Run through woods deep as brush.
My mind fails me as much as I fail it.
Organic chemicals can’t turn it to mush,
So that I can escape these feelings today.
I feel like,
Grass that sways.
I know that I must have worth.

Forgive me, I couldn’t be there for you.
It’s my fault I pushed you away.
Just know, I didn’t know what it would do.
I can’t escape these feelings today.
I want to,
Go back to that time,
To share a moment I no longer can find.
Brother you were too young to leave.

I wish I could take your pain away

We can't go back, we can never go back . .
or . .if we do . . it isn't the same.

Memories keep us forever guilty . . of an unintentional mistake.

And yet, life blossoms every new day.
