The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that at least some portion of the attendees of Donald Trump's Tuesday announcement were paid to be there.

From the Hollywood Reporter:

Donald Trump's big presidential announcement Tuesday was made a little bigger with help from paid actors — at $50 a pop.

New York-based Extra Mile Casting sent an email last Friday to its client list of background actors, seeking extras to beef up attendance at Trump's event.

"We are looking to cast people for the event to wear t-shirts and carry signs and help cheer him in support of his announcement," reads the June 12 email, obtained by The Hollywood Reporter. "We understand this is not a traditional 'background job,' but we believe acting comes in all forms and this is inclusive of that school of thought.

Here's the text of purported email:

Hi there—

We are working helping one of are [sic] associates out at Gotham GR - gothamgr.com... with a big event happening on TUESDAY 6/16/15.

This is an event in support of Donald Trump and an upcoming exciting announcement he will be making at this event.

This event is called “People for a Stronger America.” The entire group is a pro-small business group that is dedicated to encouraging Donald Trump and his latest ventures. This event will be televised.

We are looking to cast people for the event to wear t-shirts and carry signs and help cheer him in support of his announcement.

We understand this is not a traditional “background job,” but we believe acting comes in all forms and this is inclusive of that school of thought.

This event is happening LIVE and will be from 8:45AM-11:30AM. LESS THAN 3 HOURS

This will take place inside / interior.

The rate for this is: $50 CASH at the end of the event.

We would love to book you if you are interested and still available.

Please let us know and we will get back to you with confirmation.

Also included in the article is this interesting photo from a tweet by Twitter user Megan Specia (@meganspecia):

the text of the tweet:

.@realDonaldTrump staffer not too pumped i took pic of "homemade" signs (passed out to people before event) in trash

If the allegations are true — and I'm of the opinion it likely is — this should certainly shake some people out of there "at least he's not a politician!" stupor.

Well this is a shock.

Yet another tactic used to hoodwink people.

Sad state of our Political Circus. Meanwhile Bernie is packing them in, with very little coverage by MSM.
This still cracks me up.

This should end his run for president.

I mean, what politician has "paid" supporters or have "bought" facebook friends or twitter followers?

Any politician even accused of such practices should be jailed immediately!

In a way, his sad flappy comb over is a metaphor for this announcement scandal since in both cases he's attempting (and failing) to use trickery to mask a deficit and (at least in his mind) improve his appearance.

$50! Wow!
That's a pittance to what the Ferguson "protesters" …were supposedly getting!

Billionaires and their shenanigans...they do love staged events.

I'm sensing some sarcasm

What it should demonstrate, if it's true, is that despite never holding elected office, Trump is no better than any of the other politicians and probably worse than many.

Star for you having a sense of humor.

A small quote. .. . . . .

"It is a well-known fact that those people who must want to rule people are, ipso facto, those least suited to do it... anyone who is capable of getting themselves made President should on no account be allowed to do the job."

Was anyone here under a different impression? Granted I've been gone due to computer issues, but I seem to have missed the groundswell of Trump is new ... Trump isn't a typical politician ... Trump is honest ... threads upon my return.

This doesn't surprise me one bit.

Donald Trump is an idiot. He couldn't pay his way into the White House, even with all his billions.

He is a pathetic small man.

You don't think anyone in their right mind would attend voluntarily, do you? Rick Santorum should've paid too, maybe he would've had more than one supporter show up at his rally a few weeks ago.

I don't believe it. It is just too stupid. Too stupid. Even Trump is not that stupid to have an open call out to actors. Actors. Actors above all other professions love, love, love to brag about their performances.
How could any politician be THAT stupid. This whole thing smells very fishy to me. I'll wait for further conformation before I begin salivating and laughing my ass off.

I read a article the other day that multiple campaigns were doing this now if you search Trump is the only name that shows up.
