Looks like many suspicions from last week have come true.

The U.S. House of Representatives has passed some kind of "fast track" bill.

Don't know the details yet, BUT....

Now What?

House approves fast-track 218-208, sending bill to Senate

The House on Thursday took the first step toward resuscitating the White House’s trade agenda by passing legislation granting President Obama fast-track authority.

The bill now goes to the Senate, where the White House and GOP leaders are seeking to strike a deal with pro-trade Democrats.

The House vote was 218-208, with 28 Democrats voting for it.

This is the second time in a week the House has voted to approve the controversial fast-track bill. On Friday, the House voted 219-211 in favor of fast-track, which would make it easier for Obama to complete a sweeping trans-Pacific trade deal.

What does this mean?

What does it mean????

Lobbyists and Corporations are shelling out a hell of a lot of cash to buy votes!

We get arrested for that as people right? When will the SCOTUS demand equal punishment for "Corporations/People"?

Rhetorical question. No need to answer........

Now they will buy off some more in the Senate.

Let's hope all the TPP leaks are false.

Fat chance.

We'll never see what's in it.

By the time that the details are released, it'll be apparent by the loss of freedoms, loss of jobs, and dictatorial powers that the slimeball politicians have granted themselves.

LOL,

As expected.

I mentioned in the last thread the reason it was defeated was to entice the "bribers" to "increase their bids" to the holdouts who are "on the fence". Just like the ACA. Hold out, get a bigger bribe.

Nothing surprising and expected.

I actually picture politicians with both their hands out, palm open, saying "I don't know what my vote will be, heaviest hand wins".

It means that that 'slaughter' back in nov you love to talk about wasn't the god send to our country.

This trade deal is going to happen because both congress and barry want it to.

But only barry will get the blame for it.

House Republicans just voted to grant Obama a huge amount of power. All this bluster is a sick joke.

The time for elections and voting is over. None of these traitors represent the citizens. The elections are illegitimate.

Senator Jeff Sessions is worried that the adoption of the Trans-Pacific Partnership would lead to an "historic international regulatory Commission" that would eoncmpass 90 percent of the world's GDP. He's concerned that it would "[create] a self-governing and self-perpetuating Commission with extraordinary implications for American workers and American sovereignty."

there was sister legislation called the TAA (trade adjustment assistance) that provides assistance to workers who might lose their jobs due to trade deals...THAT EVEN FAILED!!.....my question is....if this is such a good deal for the American worker, why would the American worker need protection in the first place??? and, our own congress wouldn't even vote for that?...are all congressmen working for the Chinese government, and we don't know about it?....voted Obama twice, but someone/or something got to him, and of course the republicans never did care about "the working man", so no friggin' chance of help in that vast wasteland.

After this the US Government is rouge. This is an illegitimate dictatorship we are living in. Nobody should recognize the upcoming election. The people should get to nominate a runner.

why don't we cut out the middle man, and just move our seat of government to wall street....seems like they are the only ones that have any power.

I just called my senators office (Boxer and Feinstein)...and as today they are both voting against this, I urge our fellow members here to call their individual senator's offices and ask if they will too....we have numbers here on ATS, this is the way we can exercise our own vote on this trade deal....and it can be done while sitting on our collective asses.

At this point, I thank God that I only have another 40 years (give or take) left on this planet.
The place is a damned mess, and people are so complacent and ignorant that it just isn't going to get any better.
