Did NAACP president lie about her race? City investigates

As shocking as this appears to be, I kinda feel sad for this woman. She has lived the past 8-10 years as a different person, lied to her constituents, family, friends, etc.

More serious issues are (1) how did the NAACP slip up so badly on their vetting process? (2) The alleged hate crimes against her seemed contrived, at best and most likely committed by her or someone close to her. In the video, she seemed genuinely emotional discussing the hate crime situations. I mean, WTFrig. She deserves an Oscar.

She was born incorrectly into a body with a lighter skin pigmentation and melanin than she knows she should be?

This is very Caucasian-looking person, but for mixed-race people, race is almost an individual choice, so I see how this could slip by. She invented a black dad and a black son for herself, among other lies. The light-colored eyes is very rare in mixed-race people, because brown eyes is the dominant trait. I saw two "black" parents with a "black", but blue-eyed son once, though. My grandkids are half white, half Puerto Rican, so what is their race supposed to be? Race is such a sensitive issue, most people don't want to dig into it very much.

I would argue that they went from loving her to hating her based on her deception and obvious attempt at trying to commandeer their race.

To me it makes not difference, as I see the contemporary NAACP as making racism worse, not better. But I'll tell you, it is quite amusing overall. What did she gain from this? That's the question I want to know...or is she just a little mixed up in the head?

This better not lead to an additional "T" in the LGBT acronym: Transracial.

This is a fantastic point! What if people want to change their race? They can be allowed to change their gender, why not "become" black, or hispanic, or asian...etc???? Who's to say you can't be a minority? Lol ah the implications and catch 22s

Perhaps it could be a thing?
For sure this woman is not going to say she play acted to further her position even if she did, so I can only assume the line she will pull is that she 'feels' black, and has self identified as black for a number of years while fighting for the cause so she should be accepted by society as such.
The question then remains is that a mental health issue, something we accept as a real medical 'thing' with some folk feeling trapped in the wrong skin, or just a deception?

My money is on mental health issues with a touch of deception because it benefited the woman in the OP.
I don't know her of course so I don't really care either way, but the story interested me enough to comment.

If this girl wants to be black...go for it! Now, I want to be a 6'2", 200 pound, blond haired Chinese marathon runner. My wheelchair can be a yellow Chevy Camaro and the battery pack can be a LS7 engine with 600 horsepower... Naw, I'm happy being a 70 year old curmudgeon...lol.

If the NAACP is OK with Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson then this gal is deluded but OK.

It's even made national news here in the UK, not because many people really know who she is, just because the story is so bizarre.

Since when does the truth matter to a liberal? As long as it advances the agenda. Google Elizabeth Warren. Last week nobody had a problem with this woman, today they are all up in arms about her. What changed? Everybody said that she was doing a great job.
