I was really pissed off that year. For that line alone Val Kilmer should've won a Oscar for best supporting actor ! Not to mention that his character was the best supporting actor in any movie that year .

You, and all of us all knows that kilmer should have won something for that performance. His best part to date hands down. Present day, Decaprio hasn't won anything either. I personally think he should have won something for The Basketball Diaries, let alone Gilbert Grape and many things since. Going back to the basketball diaries, wow.. What a film! Leo should have won an oscar or at least a grammy for that. What a demanding role to play!
