We have a pathological dislike for bullies and EVERY warrior LOVES to kill honest to God bad guys when they appear.
I suppose it IS an egoic response to their existential situation ,what with the way our country is acting and how we were used/betrayed.

I can say it's not for violence's sake alone. We aren't so simple a people as a gang memeber or thug ,it HAS to be FOR someone who is percieved as deserving it or it wouldn't hold our values,the Kurds fit the bill.

There was a trial here in the UK that collapsed a couple weeks ago. A man had been charged with providing support to ISIS. The reason it collapsed was it was found during the trial that the British government had also been directly and continually supplying the same ISIS group with weapons, money and equipment.

One wonders if the weapon used to kill this man was financed by the USA.

You are balancing scales in a perceived righteous manor. You are defending the underdog/the maligned. I look at what China has done to gain Tibet's riches (destroy the culture first) then take the land and stockpiled god/destroy the temples/monasteries and there were no defenders there to help the fleeing Dali Lama; tragic times (India gained by having this holy man take refuge).

Of course not; its valor and self sacrifice given to/for another people unable to defend themselves (against what? a surprise attack aggressor they cannot begin to understand the purpose of). The early Roman Empire 27 BC to 286 AD promised liberty/safety by defending (OCCUPYING) regions that didn't need it in the first place; then taxed them to death infiltrating those secular government/social welfare and trading systems, destroying their personal belief systems regarding 'worship' of a higher being as well; ruining their cultures.

Of course my perceptions ARE those of a soldier.
AS is my thinking of why one should go fight and the value of persuing such when needed by a friendly nationstate or faith group that is threatened.

Why one does so? Its in the nature of the soldier to do so (to right a perceived wrong). Its unconditional; its a moral play exacted upon someone else's ugly reality inflicted upon innocents. You intervene for the good cause; to immediately change a random result from a negative to a potential positive. Go Titans! (aggressurum deterremus) just a memory now and thankfully never launched.

WE DO defer sir WE MOST certainly do.I NEVER have and NEVER will surrender my will to such an intellectually DEFEATIST attitie simply because "IT ISN'T NICE" or even still the IMPOSSIBLITY of the task ,it ONLY make a challenge worthwhile and I wouldn't leyt a little thing like death stop me until it finally HAS done so.

That depends; from the perspective of the Moslem extremist (ISIS) the actions of mercenary Christians arriving to save those they are in the act of conquering NO. This is unwanted interference. This is why these selfless acts of moral fortitude and dedication are of value. Not only to those in peril (being protected) but sends a message to the world; this matters; this barbaric behavior by ISIS cannot be tolerated. It would seem the Obama administration would rather the middle east destroy itself and wait to see who rises to the top of the pecking order or (its their problem) not for us to interfere. I don't agree with this; as this is a global community, (Obama seems unaware of). Those fighting there as mercenaries are not fighting for Christian belief, but for the right of Sunnis and Kurds to remain on that land. ISIS has no broad governmental game plan; they are trying to affect a Jihad (everybody dies or is converted to Islam).

There is no negotiating with ISIS. The cold war seems to be ramping up again with *Russia*; (PUTIN/DUPIN) administration. We were successful for 40 years "might makes right" (doesn't apply here) tribal hatred between small nation states has been festering for a 1000 years. Its worse than Vietnam.
