And the 15000 troops? Do they have apartments in Lebanon, on this figment of your imagination base?

Hezbollah has many bases in Lebanon, even air fields. And yes on occasion Israel does bomb them. In And yes they have Iranian advisers and troops among them. In fact they are better armed than the Lebanese Army. Which they do not get along with but, is to weak to much about it. When ISIS crossed into Lebanon last year and took a border town It was surrounded by Lebanese forces and also by Hezbollah. The had some debate over who would retake the town and in the end the Lebanese Army assaulted the town with support from Hezbollah artillery which the Army was lacking. It is not like anybody denies these things. Why would you?

Good for them. The USA will probably bomb the # out of the Assad/Iran forces by "accident" to get a rise out of them and force retaliation or something sinister like that. I can't wait to hear the excuse the whitehouse will make when it attacks them and you all know that they will find a chemical weapons depot or WMD to justify it. I really do hope we, the USA, just gives up on screwing with them though. It's so sooooo tiring and sad that my entire adult life we've been spreading western "democracy" to places that don't want it. Taking resources, starting wars, demolishing governments, stealing everything from these poor people. No ordinary person wants this bloodshed. It sucks that we can't just all get along and spend our time and money on space exploration! We could have a planet for every religion space is so plentiful. I hope I see that happen or even start to happen.

Iran is sending forces because Assad is losing ground more and more to both ISIS and the rebels. The US does not need to do anything. Assad has little loyalty among his military who run from ISIS and change sides when they face the rebels. Even with Irans backing his days are numbered. You simply can not prop up a guy who has almost no loyalty in his own country. Then it will be the Western backed rebels and ISIS as the two big contenders for power. And just for the historical record the US time as worlds sole super power has been the most peaceful time in human history.

34.3109624, 36.3492857 for the new drone base. Most of the rest you will find in Bekaa Valley and Beirut’s southern suburbs. Hezbollah controlled areas tend to be surrounded by check points and lots of pro Hezbollah monuments and billboards. You can find plenty of pictures of this all over the net. Not that they do not have enemies Bombing in Hez stong hold Again it is not anything Lebanon, Hezbollah or anybody else denies. In fact they ever perform their own parades through Beirut Hezbollah

I can not figure out if you really have no idea about Hezbollah in Lebanon or if your just pulling my leg. Again it is not a secret nor denied by anybody.

google maps

Some 'air base', a dirt strip on the Lebanese/Syrian border. You state its a "new drone base".

That hardly addresses the problems I put forth in my first post about logistics and movement of '15,000 Iranian troops' into Syria.

They get on a plane in Iran, fly to Lebanon and cross the border. This is not rocket science.

Try and use some common sense. They fly into Lebanon are armed and equipped and move into Syria. I do not understand where your confusion is? This is not some large scale troop movement. They do not all go at one time. They do it the same way Iran has been doing it in Syria since the war began. Again this is not anything anybody denies. Not Iran, not Hezbollah, not Syria, not the West, not Israel, Not the Arab states, and not Lebanon. Nobody but, you. You who for some reason missed the last few decades of Lebanon's history with the Hezbollah and think of military matters in the terms of Hollywood movies. What exactly are you trying to prove? That Iran is lying and not helping Syria? That Syria is lying?

No, that 15000 Iranian troops invading Syria is a load of Socha Faal crap.

I think that was established on page 1?

That notwithstanding, my point was more to the logistics of moving that many heretofore kept secret… if its over time like you say now, then its hardly an invasion. What do you think on the other hand of American airstrikes in the thousands in Syria to date?

Not much I presume, just "new Iranian drone bases" in Lebanon.

It is not an invasion. Simply an on going supply of troops to prop up Assad. What the numbers are is anybody's guess. They have to be in the upper thousands at this point. As Assads own forces will not fight. Just as Iran recognizes Assad as the leader of Syria the West and Arabs recognize the Syrian Coalition. That is who they deal with. Right now Assads forces are losing ground to bother ISIS and the rebels.

Now Turkey and the US are training a large force of rebels in Turkey. They will then be given US and Turkish air support. The US wanted to focus on ISIS and the Turks on Assads forces. They have agreed to support both at the same time because Assads position is crumbling so fast they do not want ISIS to gobble it all up. At some point Assad and his supported are going head for the coast and the most likely end up in Lebanon. Where it likely they will simply take over.

the spotty 'news' infers that Iran sent some part of a 15,000 man army of Iranian/Iraqi/Afghani troops to the Damascus and Latakia 'coastal area' of Syria... most likely by ship

the Iranian contingent might be volunteers of the Elite Quds Force ( I think they are volunteers) but surely not of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard who are said to have specialist fighters that wear suicide vests

Might that be the soon to be announced surprise promised by General Soleimani ?? Daily Star link in OP

Assad doesn't have any support?

After ISIS sacked Palmyra, I'd say Assad has his country on his side. He's facing off against western back rebels and ISIS/ISIL. Why on earth would regular Syrians go against Assad at the risk of an ISIS victory?

If the US wasn't so frikken stupid and hungry for blood and profits, they'd be backing Assad in every way possible and smashing ISIS.

They would be demanding Israel use its Jets to bomb ISIS as well

Stupid Americans know nothing but what is on FOX NEWS - your sleep walking into a major conflict and you don't eve realize your applauding it.

Is it really necessary to generalize to such an extent? Especially when you know many Americans want nothing to do with it.

Judging from Americans opinions on this site, I don't agree with that statement.

Personally, Americans don't have a choice if they want nothing to do with it. They built this beast back when they invaded in 2003 based on corporate lies and profiteering (remember the illegal war?) Too many Americans still cannot grasp the reality behind that invasion and its resulting chaos.. Now, Syria, Iraq, Lebanon are all facing harsh and brutal consequences for one administrations colossal f**up.

My opinion of Americans would change greatly if they admitted that Iraq was a load of horse crap based on lies, if they admitted that removing Saddam is ultimately what caused this ISIS beast all the while NOT blaming OBAMA for it.

Then Id have a much better generalization of Americans.

Assad is done. His Army prefers to run from ISIS so they can go off and defect to the rebels. He desperately needs more Iranians, Lebanese and Hezbollah because they will fight and not defect. The US would be foolish to back Assad because he simply will never be allowed by the Syrian people to retake power. What is left of his territory is the Capital area and the coast. Everything else is been taken over by some other group all of whom are hostile to Assad. At this point it is going to be a race between the Western backed rebels and ISIS to capture as much of Assads territory before the other does. On the plus side the rebels will keep gaining man power from defections. Then the real fight begins because all the other dozens of factions will have chose one of two sides. Join ISIS or join the Rebels.

This is a rather very good news for Syria, with FSA, Al Nusra already having problems with each other ISIS having problems with pretty much everyone else. Its obvious that if the Assad Regime falls. Syria will turn into a Hellhole like Libya. Anyone in their right minds would support the Assad Regime.

Defections are common. AL Nusra defecting to ISIS, FSA defecting to Assad. It does not mean Assad is done for. Assad has considerable amount of support in Syria. Assad can in no way survive for 4 years if he did not have the backing and support of the people and the military. Agreed , currently he seems to be on the backfoot but he still holds Vast amounts of territory and 15,000 could very much be a game changer. The only reason US does not want to support Assad is because it wants to see Syria turned into a Hellhole with Factions fighting each other.

Besides, first encounter b/w Hezbollah and ISIS hasn't gone too well for ISIS after, they were Ambushed at several places...

Many people support Assad and his government which is under attack from Saudi USA and Turkish sponsored Sunni terrorists killing Christians all over the Middle East. The Christians and Alawytes certainly group with him as they face a Sunni holcaust
