The leaders of an Orthodox Jewish sect in north London have reportedly declared that women should not be allowed to drive in a letter sent out to the community.

Rabbis from the Belz Hasidic sect in Stamford Hill have said women driving cars contravenes “the traditional rules of modesty in our camp” and the conventions of hasidic institutions, according to a report by the Jewish Chronicle.

The letter, which was signed by Belz educational leaders and endorsed by rabbis, also said children* could be banned from their schools if their mothers drove them from August onwards.

YOU ANTI-SEMITE!!!!!!!!!!

Ok seriously. As long as you're not a Muslim, wearing the Burqa or evn covering your hair is fine. If you happen to be a Muslim, then you're babaric and backward.

Can we twist these old words to ban male drivers? Fair is fair. If its not good for the females than the males shouldn't do it either.

Well if I'm sitting in traffic next to a Hasidic male I'm not likely to get a rager...

But if it's a Hasidic female...
Lock the doors because I won't be able to control my lustful urges...

So I'm with the modesty bunch.

We all have our irrational opinions and silly beliefs. Some of us think women should be forbidden to drive. Some of us think grown men shouldn't wear beanies and pigtails.

Fortunately, we can express opinions such as these because it's still legal in most countries to be a complete douche bag.

In all fairness, as an orthodox Israelite I can conclusively say that sucks hasidic women should never ever drive. Ever. Trust me.

Driving through Stamford hill is an experience. The first time I did it I thought it was a fancy dress day or something all the males dress exactly the same and so do all the females regardless of age. I wasn't aware thal all the women were wearing wigs. I just thought it was the local style. It seemed to be a very restrictive dress code for all. Just part of the multi cultural fabric of East London.
