I'm male and straight. SHAVE! Don't be a hipster do-fuss. I do not see how any man can withstand that scruff. Evolve and not devolve, be a modern day human and not a cave dwelling scoundrel with a fecal matter infested chin and face. Or just grow up and realize you could grow a beard, but don't need to.

I see a lot of young men lately with this stupid hipster beards, why? I thinks it's because they are either lazy, poor, both or just total dumb ass's who think they look cool in beards just because they can grow them. I say grow the hell up.

I hate to sound so against them beards, but i hate them, and you all that grow them need to know they are not stylish!
I know i sound mean, but hey this is something that totally upsets me and pisses me off a lot.

With all the evolution us humans have gone through, facial hair is still there, as is leg hair for women, etc.

Shaving is not evolving, it is grooming.

I do love a man with a beard. But it has to be a real beard, long enough not to scratch delicate lady skin. Same with the mustache.
My Beloved keeps his beard trimmed neatly but has in the past let it go in the wizardly fashion of which you write. I'll have to say that he cuts quite the romantic figure in his portrayal of Merlin. He certainly swept me off my feet.

There was a gal who answered that one, once.
She was like,
"Why bother. 6 months later, and ya have to do it again..." LOL!!

LOL So all men should shave our facial hair because you harbor superficial stereotypes about facial hair? Judging people based on outside appearances isn't "a modern day human", it's old fashioned stereotyping. "Modern" thinking is to judge people based on their ideas, actions, the content of their character, merit, etc.

As for the OP: Do what makes you feel good. If you like it, keep it. If it bothers you, cut it or trim it (I'd recommend trimming before cutting it). I rock a goatee but just made a mistake of cutting my fro. I got tired of dealing with it, shaved it, and instantly regretted it. Now I'm trying to decide if I want to spend another 6-10 months regrowing it.

I prefer a smooth face myself (though I have no objection to other men growing them).

Interesting thing I discovered last time I grew one - people tended to treat me with more respect. Maybe because it was grey and I looked old and distinguished. I look about 12 without one.

Swings and roundabouts...

I'm thinking the moustache is going to go.
I've got a new girlfriend and I asked her what she thinks.
She told me to do whatever wanted to do. I think she was just being nice and didn't want to tell me that pressing her smooth face into my Grizzly Adams face fur was not the ideal smooching situation.

i had grown my beard out quite a bit. It was starting to get tangled under my chin from rubbing on my shirt collar all day, so I decided it was time to trim it down.

I took my clippers with a 3 guard, and trimmed it back nice and tidy. The "goatee" area i did with a 4 to give contour.

My best advice: unless you are living alone, make sure you trim outside. The "wimminfolk" don't like having a bathroom sink full of beard hair. From my own recent experience.

Be a wizard

Shaving sucks!

To anyone doubting the wizard look, at least stop shaving your moustache, and tell me it doesn't feel a million
times better after a few months

Female opinions? While the gandalf look has its appeal in a certain way, basically many of us really prefer clean shaven. However that is not the same as saying one should listen to others on personal matters. Maybe go between some "selfishness" and pleasing people around you, and striking a balance?

Only one thing to say, really.

Beards: They grow on you.

Bah wizards, they're so... 90's.

I say grow a goatee and put a bunch of braids with dangly beads in it.

It's a guaranteed 'in' to Valhalla.

A question for the ladies.
Do you like kissing a man with a moustache?

Opinions seem to be evenly split.
I'm going to flip a coin.
Heads, I shave.
Tails, I go full Gandolf.
Heads wins.
R.I.P. Amish beard and Chuck Norris/Burt Reynolds moustache.

The real stinker is that the more you shave, the faster and thicker it grows back.
Testosterone can be cruel.
I actually know a bearded lady.
For what it's worth, that is not a deal breaker for me if you have a charming personality.

Ah yes. You have made the right decision. I personally think men should shave twice a day. : )
Not really, I know it gets to be a pain..... but still. You need to show off your beautiful face!

~Like your avatar! He has nice tangerine-colored hair everywhere except for his adorable little face. You too, can be like him.
