Australia tries to keep people out of Australia for their own safety. Christ almost everything that walks, crawls or swim's in that place want's to kill you. (okay a slight exaggeration)

Are there any ongoing investigations into the speed trap cameras?

Many in the US have been found to be purposely inaccurate.

You know what I have no idea.

But we do have a policy that the police and cameras have to give a 10% + 8mph variation in any situation. So in a 70 zone you can technically do 83mph and the court cant get you.

In the US most of the speed cams are operated by private companies. They have been found and it's been proven that the companies manipulate the speed sensors.

That's good, a bit of lateral worked.
Whatever happened to that Bolas net thing that got plugged a lot of years ago? it was supposed to be the bee's knees for that kind of situation.

I will be driving in California in a few weeks I will keep that in mind.

Here the speed cameras are government and you can contest them in court. You can get out of them pretty easy if even something is slightly off. In fact if you demand calibration records half the time they drop it. Though depends on the county. Where I am they dont even bother putting film in them any more, go to Wales and they will religiously upkeep them and calibrate them.

Still everyone gets 12 points. Each speeding ticket is 3 points that last 2 years and if you hit 12 you lose your licence for a year or two and the fines only £60 so getting caught s not too much of a bother as long as its not all the time.

'All three officers involved found not guilty of perversing the course of justice'

Yet the officers concocted a false reason for the arrest?

Eh!

Yeah thats a bit odd.

But they got convicted of the actual assault.

You get a bigger penalty for assault anyway. And their jobs are over.

True, but still you'd think an example ought to be set. Add all the charges up etc. Nevermind, justice is served either way.

The jury likely just caught up in lawyer talk and as they already found him guilty of Assault didn’t think it worth spending any more time on.

Pretty sloppy but jury's cant always be 100 % reliable.

Lots of cities are fighting the installment of the cameras and getting them taken down, so you might not have to worry to much depending on where you are.

Just remember, we drive on the right side of the road.

Oh and you better hope it doesn't rain while you here, swear people act like their car can not operate correctly in the rain out here in CA.
At least down south anyway.

Hey crazy, do we know how much of a thug this guy is yet?

Like his whole life history and how he obviously was the next Al Capone.

He was student so must have been a evil thug.

Our police should have killed him on site

No , that would have been the US style of justice seems like of late.

A Met Police officer has been convicted of assaulting a student whose tooth was knocked out during a protest.

BBC News

A policeman knocks a tooth out cooks up a false arrest and we try and we convict him.

Its kinda funny.

UK police cant even knock a tooth out and US cops can go strangle people to death and shoot suspects at will

Maybe you didn't hear about the S.Carolina Cop that is on the hook for murder.

Maybe you've been living in a rock and haven't read the news reports about the 6 cops in Baltimore who are currently being charged.

Maybe you didn't hear about the San Francisco cops that were convicted of corruption.

Maybe you didn't hear about the Atlanta cop convicted of Police Brutality.

Maybe you have selective hearing/reading.

Maybe you should mind your own countries damn business.

Maybe you should shut up and realize that you brits have 8 times as many violent crimes as the US. Sounds like you lot don't have much of a Police presence at all, and you are now throwing one of the few good guys under the bus so you can appease Muslims and pander to 'Political Correctness'

Maybe you can come back to us when England has the same level of Diversity and co-existence of cultures as the US. As it stands, England is about 85% Lily freaking White.

Woah back up Chunk!

This is an international forum and as such everyone has a right to an opinion. At the moment it seems ok for our US cousins to state we've no right to a view due to peadophile MPs.

And you managed to be Islamaphobic without one person debating anything to do with religion!

Remember us Brits are one of the few friends you guys have left in the World!

You know that is directly related to our obsession with guns.

That is a little tongue in cheek, but guns are the reason.
