May I raise a glass with you ?

Today I just secured a new job as well, I go from minion to team leader in another company with a rather large and embarrassing pay rise.

Congratulations to you, and may you fly high

Hey, congrats! Can you tell me why my Hyundai no longer goes in reverse? I have to use manual reverse ... you know, push it.

serious question?
tranny.
prob have to take it to a trans shop.
most repair shops dont do anything more with transmissions besides remove and reinstall. well, most wil lput clutch assemblies in as well but once you start losing gears and having major slips, they'll send you to a trans shop.

if it wasnt a serious question, i dont get the joke.

Thanks ketsuko

It's an awesome opportunity, but this isn't my thread and I wouldn't want to hijack it. Just wanted to share in Mugly's joy and raise a glass with him.

Yeah, we know it's the transmission. We're hoping it hangs on until we can trade it in for scrap and replace it with something else. The car shifts rough too. It's an ancient Accent. Still has a cassette deck in it if that gives you an idea, so we figure we'd do better to replace the car over replacing the transmission.

if its that old the best bet is to just ride it till it dies.
a tranny rebuild can cost some bucks and it probably wouldnt be worth it

Nah, our Pontiac is almost as old and gives a much better ride, so it gets to be driven into the ground.
