I found this.

abcnews.go.com...

But that was in Southern Mexico and it was 5.5. Maybe it triggered a bigger one in Mexico City.

Yeah....I saw that one an hour or so ago. This one seems to be more recent, though I guess they could be the same and just being mis-reported?

That's what I'm seeing now, too. Where did 7.2 come from? Mexico City? Hmmm....

Not sure but maybe it was an aftershock? I'm not seeing anything reported on USGS Map

I could not find it on any quake maps either. Guessing it was incorrectly reported? Odd that it was an hour or so after the 5.5 though. I think there was also a 7.2 southern Mexico around this time last year.....

Is Nepal opposite of Mexico? These shadow quakes ( not sure if that's the right terminology )
These plates are having some fun lately?

If there are members in both Nepal and Mexico.. stay safe!

My Rainmeter earthquake map also reports a 5.5 at 110 km in depth. There were smaller quakes earlier (or later) today around central america: 4.6 in costa rica, then a 5.3 in ecuador.

I'm running GEE (Global Earthquake Explorer) at the moment. Nothing to indicate anything that large on worldwide seismos -- let alone Mexican ones -- so I'm calling hoax on it.
edit on 4/28/2015 by Nyiah because: RUNNING, GEE, not rumming. Wish I was rumming it up ATM though

We had a 3.7 here in my area of CA but that happens frequently. It's those 6.0 or greater that get our attention. Sure hope those in Mexico are unharmed.
