"The Most Dangerous Country" is always going to be the most powerful at the time. People like to act like any other country with the Power of the USA would be any better in their decision making abilities, which is laughable.

I find it telling that .08% voted for Latvia, it seems their propaganda machine is in full gear

We're number one! We're number one! We're Number one!"
USA!!!
USA!!!
USA!!!
Oh say can you see by the dawn's early light
what so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming...

Needless to say, the results of this poll didn't surprise me at all. I acknowledge America's position of danger to the world (though I suspect my reasoning for that is 180 degrees different from the reasons most chose the US as most dangerous), but I suspect a poll entitled "Which country represents the most likely nation to save humanity" the USA would win that one, too. It's the epitome of a double edged sword. The American politician giveth, and the American politican taketh away...

HA
Id have to agree!

It depends on who is in government I would say would likely kill us all or save us all!

Needless to say it changes rapidly and is not even consistent to party's either

Have to give the USA one thing you certainly are not boring and predicable, something you didn't inherit from your British cousins

I can well accept the UK opinion. Though there is always the mention of the "Special relationship" in reality, the Brits really don't like the US much at all. Almost no one does. You can blame the policies of Washington for that, regardless of party in the seat.

Well being dragged into two US wars, one of which (Iraq ) the public did not want kinda does that to opinion when the coffins start coming home.

For those of you who thought that my country - Iran - is capable of posing a threat to humanity and vanish you all from the face of the earth ,

Not yet, but when they finally build their nuclear weapons then they will be.

Proof?

And Netcheyaho says so is not "proof".

Haven't we learned from making conclusion based on zero evidence from Iraq?
dear friend , they said they have "undeniable proof" of Iraqi WMDs .

they went in and OOPSY !! none was found .

Iraq is so free now ! you have no idea how free they are . they just don't know it yet ! ISIS is a living proof to it .

Dangerous.

But not dangerous enough not to accept foreign aid from us.

Or in times of disaster humanitarian relief.

Its ok if it was just aid the USA gave out.

Problem is you tend to drop bombs on people too....

or you never know which one it will be. For many countries receiving aid and/or bombs, its a straight up crapshoot.

I'd take that bet. Sorry Burd but it's not 1943 anymore. Your country has been overrun by corporations. The gov't doesn't really rule anymore. Hasn't in 50 years. THAT is why you get results like this. It's not the people. It's the system that you have that you can't escape.

World Bank Contributors: finances.worldbank.org...
USA almost 2x next country on list
International Aid: en.wikipedia.org...
USA largest COUNTRY on list nearly doubling second largest aid provider
UN Peacekeeping Efforts: www.un.org...
USA provides nearly 29% of UN's total peacekeeping budget, topping second place country by nearly 3 times. (Funding only, does not include physical troops)
NATO: www.cbsnews.com...
USA provides 23% of NATO's military funding and 22% of their civil funding, both tops.

From a fiscal standpoint, if the USA decided to stop hemmoraging money on the world, the world would suffer catastrophic losses. The same cannot be said about the reverse because the US is not an aid receiving nation, military, money, or otherwise. That's what I'm talking about. The rest of the world isn't going to shake out their couch cushions to scratch together those lost billions... but wars, natural disasters, and political strife would take place with or without America's credit cards. The USA is like a parent whose children see them as little more than a walking cash machine and a target for whining and complaint. Ultimately, when mommy and daddy have had enough and force the child to leave the nest and fare for themselves, the child inevitably recognizes they were whining about way too good a thing to have taken a crap on.

China is polluting the atmosphere with their archaic factories. Indonesia and Brazil are cutting down all the rain forests which is not only making the climate much hotter but also causing a great deal of atmosphere pollution. Japan killed the Pacific ocean.

Americans are just DUMB and refuse to learn anything. They refuse to THINK independently.

The poll is probably correct, it is USA.

Sorry Burd but that doesn't address my post.

Secondly, that's fairly arrogant. The US is the "parent" of the world? Many of these cultures that get US aid, and US military intervention, have been around THOUSANDS of years longer than the US. Don't need the US. In many cases, don't want the US. Like some have a choice. @@

You are aware that from those 30 billions 15 are for Iraq and Afghanistan right?

Some call it aid, others reparations

Also its funny, you people spend 1 trillion bombing the place and then boast the 13billion you give to rebuild, of which as with most US "aid", most goes to military

More of a case the UK was the parent and after WW2 decided # it everyone hates us and its costs too much so not worth it and gave the role over to you guys to play parent.

If you pack the job in someone else will take the job and be just as hated if not more.

Like the UK when we were the parent your going to be hated whatever you do or don't do.

Though seeing China would be the one to play parent if the USA left, id rather you stay for now

I never said anything about hearing someone say so...sorry.

As far evidence...do you really believe that with the ability to build one they won't?

And do you believe that if Iran had a nuke they wouldn't use it as some point?

"Believe"? Belief has led many to kill and be killed. Why don't we go with facts and not "belief" and "fear"?

Iran with its 3 decade sanctioned economy is called the world's biggest refugee camp .

you know why ? cause since US has attacked Afghanistan and Iraq , their innocent people who were denied their basic rights such as security and even proper food and education , fled to their last hope : The only country in the region who was not yet invaded : IRAN .

en.wikipedia.org...
www.unhcr.org...

now you can pull the "world bank contributors" on us my dear , but since we all know that the same bank gives its most tremendous amounts of money to build up the fragile economies in EU and gives huge loans to the allies of US , we frankly don't give a tootsie .

My tax has been spent on feeding afghans (which i'm so goddamn proud of it BTW) while my own people were dying because of sanctions put on our health industry .

Do you have any idea how it feels ?

put yourselves in our shoes . how do you feel if you were an Iranian ? an Iraqi ? an Afghan ?

Are you sure?

The New York Times has run an investigation into the large cache of WMDs found in Iraq during the war. The Times has documented at least 5,000 weapons of mass destruction that were found and subsequently covered up by the Pentagon. In the Times article written by C.J. Shivers describes the first time U.S. troops discovered such weapons:

The soldiers at the blast center sensed something was wrong.

It was August 2008 near Taji, Iraq. They had just exploded a stack of old Iraqi artillery shells buried beside a murky lake. The blast, part of an effort to destroy munitions that could be used in makeshift bombs, uncovered more shells.

Two technicians assigned to dispose of munitions stepped into the hole. Lake water seeped in. One of them, Specialist Andrew T. Goldman, noticed a pungent odor, something, he said, he had never smelled before. He lifted a shell. Oily paste oozed from a crack. “That doesn’t look like pond water,” said his team leader, Staff Sgt. Eric J. Duling.

The specialist swabbed the shell with chemical detection paper. It turned red — indicating sulfur mustard, the chemical warfare agent designed to burn a victim’s airway, skin and eyes.

All three men recall an awkward pause. Then Sergeant Duling gave an order: “Get the hell out.”

the only reason we thought Iraq might have WMDs is because we GAVE THEM WMDd TO FIGHT IRAN

So to answer your question : yeah , i'm pretty sure .

(from user indigent) :Tell your government to stop invading countries, that way you don't need to send "help" taxpayer, Afghanistan and Iraq are principal recipients of your aid, followed by Israel and Pakistan, so your aid is aimed to reconstruction of countries destroyed by you/military targets

Oh and such a giving nation you are, always #1...

Pay attention. The graph is talking "Foreign aid as percentage of GDP."

The U.S. is the most populous country on that graph, being in third place with almost 321 million people according to survey. The next most populous country on that graph is Japan in 10th place with almost 127 million people. The U.S. has more than double the number of people than Japan. If you doubled the value on the graph, that would place the U.S. at giving more than Japan, Australia, Spain, Germany, Portugal, and Canada. And that's only so far assuming that the U.S. GDP was based upon the population of Japan instead of the population of the U.S. Moving forward, the country who gave the most in comparison to their GDP was Denmark. Denmark is in 113th place for population with almost 5.7 million people. The U.S. has about 56 times more people. So if I take the value on the graph above and multiply that about 56 times, you will find that it would stretch to user Meduzi's quote "I can well accept the UK opinion."

The costs of running the infrastructure of a population accelerates as the population increases.

Your graph there only makes me wonder how in the world the United States is able to give foreign aid at all.

Notice that the two most populous nations China and India are not even on the graph above. Interesting still yet, because China's population is four times more than the U.S. at almost 1.4 billion people! Therefore, if China even gave just .0025 percent of their GDP to foreign aid, they would be competing with the U.S.!

As far as the opinions of people on which country is the most dangerous to humanity, I say that's a ridiculous question. The people that answered that question should have considered how much of a danger they are to themselves, their friends, and family first, before they even considered such a notion. If everyone improved themselves, there would little harm against humanity to worry about.
