Saw moon equal distance between two planets a little while ago, really an aesthetic sight

By accident I looked up at the moon just when it was right between two planets, seen in a straight line as if the three bodies were lined up. At first it looked like something out of the movie 2001. Anyone else watch when that occurred? Will it still occur in some areas of the globe as the night goes on? And which two planets were they? Those are my questions three.

And which two planets were they?

Nice catch.

Jupiter and Venus.

Thanks. When I saw it I wondered if a "be on the lookout for this" alert for this sight has been up on astronomical viewing sites on the net. Jupiter and Venus, with the moon chaperoning between them.

Wanted to say something when this was posted earlier..
It's cloudy and even some light snow past 4 nights... I'm missing the good stuff. Including the Lyrid's meteor peak.
But it goes to show.. even in today's tech addicted world.. one might stop and smell the roses or take in an epic view..

So I just step away and watch the deer frolic through my back yard. If I can't see up, I will look below..
