Hillary Clinton recently announced that she will be appointing long-time Monsanto lobbyist Jerry Crawford as adviser to her “Ready for Hillary” super PAC.

Crawford has mostly worked with Democratic politicians in the past, but has also put his support behind Republican candidates as well. Anyone who was willing to support Monsanto’s goals would receive support from Crawford.

In the past, Crawford has worked with Bill Clinton, Al Gore, John Kerry and Bill Northey. Over the years, Crawford has been instrumental in fighting against small farmers in court and protecting Monsanto’s seed monopoly.

...what's next? A ex-Goldman Sachs executive to be her running mate?

In 2014, Clinton was paid to speak at the Biotechnology Industry Organization where she openly expressed her support for GMO crops.

In her speech, she said that “I stand in favor of using seeds and products that have a proven track record….And to continue to try to make the case for those who are skeptical that they may not know what they’re eating already. The question of genetically modified food or hybrids has gone on for many many years. And there is again a big gap between what the facts are and what perceptions are.”

"Just last week it was reported that Hillary Clinton is attempting to repolish her image and paint herself as a champion of the common people. She is planning to make “toppling the 1%” one of her primary campaign selling points, although she is obviously a part of the same ruling class that she is speaking against, and receives massive contributions from some of the most corrupt aristocratic organizations in the world."

Those with an opulent lifestyle will do such...

Are we expecting Mrs.Clinton to exude the heights of morality nowadays?

Or do we have to bash her every move?

We've got nearly two years for this division to unfold...

Can't we just all get along in this non-partisan period of time.

She knows where to go when she needs someone to lead a propaganda campaign to cover up criminal activity. Does this surprise anyone?

The 2016 election may be the first election where I don't vote at all...since I was of age to vote.

I think the choices we have in the people to elect are all in the same boat...pretending not to be.

No surprise... as you point out, it is a perfect fit.

Still, when I read the headline I let out an involuntary. "oh, NO !!!!"

Don't give in yet, it's early in the game. I heard a tidbit about Carly Fiorina being a possible candidate. Going to check her out and see what she's made of. I know nothing about her.....yet.

We should always bash every move of such a corrupt and murderous person. Why would you want us to give her a pass? We're kind of over politicians like her.

I used to affiliate with Democrat. After Obama's proxy wars in Syria and Libya, I grew disillusioned. Now I'm thinking Green Party, lol. We need a viable third party or parties.

I get your point, but don't make the mistake of generalizing to all liberals or democrats. There are PLENTY of us who are awake, regarding literally all of the topics discussed on ATS.

Remember that the Republican Party is considered the most in bed with corporations. Their platform is outrightly so. It's just that the Democratic elite act as if they are not but actually are. But at least the sheep that are Democrat are at least TOLD that the party is anti-war, pro-environment, pro-poor, etc. Those sheeple have some excuse because they BELIEVE that they are voting for helping the poor, protecting the environment, not going to war, etc. They are lied to, yes.

Republicans have no excuse. Their party blatantly TELLS them that the platform is pro-rich, anti-environment, pro-war, etc. LOL. That IS the Republican platform...

However, yes, both parties suck now.

If these things are not pointed out on ATS as they happen, many will overlook them if for no other reason than apathy.

I would expect the same thing to be posted if Ted Cruz appointed a BP lobbyist in the same position.

All the OP is about is knowledge--that's a good thing. You can interpret it as you will.

S & F. Also shared the link on Facebook.

I'm liberal, mainly because I care about the environment and the poor, but I will NOT vote for Hillary. I guess I have to write one in. Bruce Springsteen it is.

Obama appointed Monsanto's Tom Vilsack to USDA Chief.

Wonder who Jeb Bush will hire on?

Sadly this no new, all our political rats are liked to big corporations in one way or the other, they are part of every political party team and later on they are appointed in positions and agencies that they have links too.

This is another way in which corporate money find itself within our politics, is easier to lobby from within the political parties in positions of some power.

This is the face of America this days, we have become powerless to what those that runs the country do, say and push because their corporate money is everywhere

If this doesn't show how fake American democracy is, I don't know what does. Obama decided against public funding of elections which means the corporations wins. The only solution is proportional representation to allow new parties to emerge. In the mean time, you may as well vote democrat. Always vote to the left to slow down the extraction of wealth from the middle classes by the super rich. It's a question of evil or eviler.
