Despite lower crime rates, support for gun rights increases

Well isn't it obvious. Using the same logic as 3danimator2014, there needs to be something banned in order to quell this constant child rape we keep reading about, as I am sure another one will happen shortly.

Thats not my logic or what im saying at all. And you know it. But playing along: if something was being used to rape children and was also hurting other people and it was something that nobody needs in day to day life (like guns..) then yes, there would be a discussion on whether that needs to be banned or not.

There is something being used....people. That is the root and source of your argument....only in the case I brought up, there are no weapons being used, and it is solely to demonstrate that it IS people that are the cause....not guns.

I know a crazy homeless guy down at one of the bum parks that argues with trees. I am guessing that since you want to argue with numbers, you and he may get along very well.

I can introduce you when you visit the US, but you may want to stay away, as with all of the guns, blood is running in our streets and you may not like having to step over all the bodies of the dead children that shoot each other with their father's evil AR15.

As for your first point...that is what statistics are about. They correlate certain aspects of an argument. In this case the statistics are showing that an increase in guns seems to be working. You can't lump "crime ridden" areas into your scenario of school shootings or whatever. Crime ridden areas will always be that way until the area is cleansed of the criminals....weapons are not the problem.

My point is a criminal is a criminal regardless of the tool used....they always will be. And had there been guns around, it is very possible that the guys that pedophiles in the UK may be a bit more hesitant to mess with someones kid....at this point they kind of don't have anything to worry about as evidenced by the number of years these guys have been doing this and the daily scandals about this same thing that are printed in US papers.......
