It doesn't. That is a myth pushed by the "Just say no" propaganda team. They've known it was a myth all the way back in 2003.
You should perhaps update yourself on recent marijuana science. You appear to be woefully ill equipped for this discussion.

So inhaling smoke is good for you now eh? I mean hey, I am not against a toke every now and then, but let's not go off the deep end here.
I am not interested in your stoner studies. Bob Marley's brain cancer was enough to convince me. Oh I think it's very clear which one of us is in denial here. ~$heopleNation

I know it's going to probably happen, I just believe it's a mistake. People can get all they want already, giving the government control over it is foolish.
Basically I see it as empowering the government, while dumbing down the herds even more than they already are. Just my take on it. ~$heopleNation

Creating corporate marijuana is empowering government? Uh... ok...

Do you not understand that inhaling smoke effects the brain, as well as the lungs? Never mind.
What does my name have to do with this discussion? Stick to the topic now. I told you that nobody is trying to take your dope away.
Since you brought it up though, why do you feel good about being controlled, do you like being slave minded? ~$heopleNation

It most certainly is. Playing stupid doesn't change that fact either. I can't walk you through reality though.
You have access to pot now, and the laws need to be lightened up more, but it does not need to be commercialized.
Some of you are so obsessed with getting your weed legal that it comes to a point where you're no longer thinking logically.
I know, You won't be happy until there are ganja pop up ads here on ATS. ~$heopleNation

Stoner studies? The first study was from M.I.T. and the second study came from the University of Louisville. Though the fact that you used the term "stoner studies" really highlights your close minded stance on this issue. You aren't interesting in learning anything new about marijuana, you are just content with believing the lies pushed by the government in the 80's. That's pretty funny coming from someone with the screen name "SheopleNation". Heck you even continue to use the derogatory names for users (stoners) and marijuana (dope) despite the fact that the stoner stereotype has been completely debunked.

LMAO! Thank you so much for demonstrating the type of reason you apply in reaching conclusions...and to think you're here talking down about pot lowering IQ...LOL!
So, a guy who smoked weed got brain cancer huh?

We'll have a good laugh guy, cause I am laughing back at you. How is your journey to nowhere working out for you so far?
So, a guy who smoked weed got brain cancer huh?
Yeah, a guy who smoked it every single day. It being bad for you is not the point though, people do things that are bad for them all the time. My concern is its effect on kids. ~$heopleNation

Basically just more illogical blabbering, and anything to deflect the fact that inhaling smoke is bad for your brain and certainly your lungs.
The news: Conventional wisdom generally says inhaling any kind of smoke is bad for your lungs, and, to that end, smoking marijuana is just as bad for your health as smoking tobacco cigarettes.
However, according to data recently published in the journal Annals of the American Thoracic Society, inhaling one marijuana cigarette a day over 20 years is not associated with adverse changes in lung health.
In the largest cross-sectional analysis study of its kind, researchers at Emory University in Atlanta found that cannabis exposure and inhalation were not associated with negative spirometry changes, just FEV1 (forced expiratory volume) declines or problems with small airways disease. Additionally, the researchers found that vaporizing marijuana users reported even fewer issues than those who inhaled combusted marijuana.
With your way of thinkng, Alcohol must be good for your liver. But back to my original point prior to you coming unhinged, pot is destructive to young people. ~$heopleNation

Illogical blabbering? Way to dismiss everything I said not to mention move the goal posts back. You originally said that smoking kills brain cells. I proved that wrong, now you are painting some weird correlation between smoking and brain damage without ANY scientific study behind it. Besides, I've already pointed out that smoking isn't the only way to imbibe marijuana.
Speaking of science by the way:
There's Very Good News for the Lungs of Marijuana Smokers

So what? It's already been established that kids won't be allowed to buy marijuana once legalized and that it will be easier to keep out of their hands since legal businesses are accountable to the law. Also, why would I say that alcohol is good for my liver? There is study after study proving this. YOU on the other hand just keep dredging up 1980's anti-pot propaganda as your evidence then casually dismiss all the scientific evidence I present that says it is wrong.

Mg concern is the kids.' Haha. More substanceless nonsense. Being anti-pot seems to cause you to draw inane conclusions and to repeat nonsense you have heard despite having no logic for making the connections you do...we need to keep this anti-pot stuff at bay...I'm really concerned the kids are gonna pick up these sloppy mental habits.

Krazysh0t, Do you choke when you inhale marijuana? Well if you do, that is because your body is warning you that smoke is not good for you. Certainly you can at least agree that inhaling carcinogens is bad for your lungs?
Again, I am not anti-pot. You don't seem to be able to comprehend that now do you? Oh and you never asked me about the cultivation of Hemp, so don't make reckless assumptions. I am 100% in support of Hemp being grown for industrial purposes and it's oils ect. ~$heopleNation
