The Iran leadership is at it again.

Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei is claiming the P5+1+Obama "negotiations" are yielding zero results.

Something so important and yet all the official conflicting statements from the "Leaders".

Looks like a classic fail on all fronts.

"What Has Happened So Far Is No Guarantee Of An Agreement, Of Negotiations That Will Lead To An Agreement, Of The Details Of [Such] An Agreement, Or Even That These Talks Will Conclude In An Agreement"

On April 9, 2015, Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei spoke about the April 2, 2015 Lausanne declaration, clarifying that it was merely a statement for the media, with nothing having been agreed regarding the details of the negotiations – details that the parties will only begin to discuss later on. As such, he said, there was no need for a response from him regarding the declaration.

Khamenei noted that he had no confidence in Iran's American negotiating partner, saying that it is "a cheater and a liar," and pointing out that the Americans have been misrepresenting the details of the negotiations in public for domestic political purposes, and also in order to deal with the opponents of the negotiations. He called President Obama's speech following the Lausanne declaration "smiling deception" and warned against believing in his promises.

This is just farting off for the locals. Iran cannot be seen to actually have an agreement with the despised West. The reality is that Iran needs to have the sanctions lifted because Iran's economy is being increasingly impacted by sanctions.

How long will Iran's unemployed and restless population be sated by brinkmanship and bluster. I predict a deal will be done and Iran will focus their ire on supporting agitation against Saudi and the rest of the Arab world, in perpetuation of the Muslim killing Muslim cycle.

First , I am an American. But I would ask , has he just now came to that conclusion? Every world leader , by nature , has to fit that bill

Anyone with a 6th grade education knows America's history of naked imperialism and military adventurism.

Lying and cheating?

That's really trivializing genocide, apartheid, war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Better start making kids recite the pledge of allegiance two times a day. The stink is really boiling over and getting sloppy now.

Yep... just like North Korea.

I don't know where Khamenei gets this stuff. From Nixon to Obama, American leaders have been nothing but paragons of virtue, integrity, and honesty.

We can all agree that the use of the word agreement in the reference to the [presumed] agreement was excessive.

When a politician says it's the truth, it is, but it is within a very specific narrow context and interpretation at that moment in time. All other references to that "truth" outside of that no longer holds.

Why?

Iran doesn't want a deal.

Obama trying to force one so he can actually claim a single foreign policy win after 6 years of absolute failures, doesn't make it mandatory.

Iran wants nukes.

They will never sign any deal that says they can't have them.

So why do you think he "needs" to sit down and make a deal?

Pssst.

They already have signed a deal. It's getting them to guarantee they'll stick with it that seems to be the issue

Why make a deal with someone who has no sense of reality ?

Why are we even talking to these people.

We had a chance to help these people when they rose up during the Arab Spring.

Instead we chose to watch them get shot down like dogs in the street.

The entire time they were begging for America's help.

We need to leave the Region forever...

No they haven't. Iran supreme iatola or however you spell the douche bags title is the only person in iran with the authority to sign any binding treaties.

He signs nothing, therefore iran has no binding treaties with the west.

The west can claim they do, but that is bs and everyone knows it.

Iran does not respect or even acknowledge the wests version of contract law.

To them it is just a piece of paper with words on it.

I never said anything about how he "needs" to do anything. I said if he doesn't like the present deal he should go to the table and work out a better job.
