Join The Voluntary Human Extinction Movement

Its an absurd even maybe a little romantic notion but I don't see it catching on. Faze out humans by getting everyone to agree to stop having children. What about in africa where there are millions and millions of people without a TV to watch at night? How are you going to stop them huh?

Its not natural. Humans need to be united to a common goal. An alien invasion might do it. It does in the movies.

Many species, not just apes, exhibit intelligence on a par with us—though we try to skew the criteria for intelligence to make it seem like we’re the smartest. None of them seem to be in line to convert the rest of the world into their habitat as we are doing.

We have an opportunity to prove we can behave benignly despite our biological heritage. We may never be able to stop fighting with each other, exploiting the natural world, or giving in to other primal urges, but we can stop breeding and eventually our nature will be history.

How about politicians.. priests.. lawyers.. bankers .. religous nuts .. extinction program .. once theyre all gone world would be far better off ..

But seriously, even that won't work because they'll just come up with some other set of names and positions besides those and do the same.

This voluntary Extinction thing might be the only way actually. I bet something like that gets pretty intense once you get down to the last few people left though. All of them trying to think of a good method where they all go at once without anyone cheating and living with a stash of women somewhere to repopulate with.

In fact if you think about it. If you just got rid of most of the men but kept a lot of women that would be the only possible way to continue on. The other way around would never work as it would be way too slow. So maybe we just need to have a Voluntary Extinction of Men down to just a small number?? It would either be Heaven or Hell for those guys that are left. Difficult to say which exactly.

Can you not see that is already being done just go shopping drive a car or fly on a plane.

Look at all the young people that prefer their electronic devices to human interaction.

It's already happening.

i plan on getting a vasectomy after i have whatever kid/kids i end up having, so at least i will be kinda helping in the future, for the future of mankind.

I have a friend who has been a Vhemt believer for a few years now, he's an only child and his family name will definitely die with him. He's not done it just to save the planet for those creatures that deserve it more (all other animals except Homo Sapiens) but also because he couldn't bear the pain of imagining the future for his children ( if he's had children)... and me, being a mother of three, I now understand clearly what he meant.

Vhemt believers are correct when they say that every problem this planet and other species have met have always been down to us, humans. But I disagree with a total extinction because not all humans are the same, some are good decent loving people who care very much about Earth and all its inhabitants.

I believe in us, we have the ability to show selfless love.

Yeah right. We can't even take care of our home planet that was in perfect working order and that we have lived with for thousands of years and have evolved a connection with and yet you think we'd do any better with an alien planet that isn't even capable of supporting us yet????

How's that gonna work???

This thread reminded me of a documentary a friend told me about, I can't remember what the name of it is, but it was about the 'male to female ratio' in China and how a wide variety of "paraphilias" (sexual perversions) such as men dating and marrying sex dolls was taking place. Overall, in the world at large, a similar type of phenomenon is also occurring thanks to overpopulation, unprecedented internet technologies and psychological and sexual distortions. The increase in so-called incidents of pedophilia and possession of child pornography and all of the 'age of consent' hysteria as it relates to children growing up on the internet is very much a part of this scenario.

I guess my point is that the overpopulation itself is messing up natural sexual development, almost as a collective unconscious response, and that more homosexuals and other sexual orientations which are essentially celibate in nature, although considered highly abnormal to the status quo, turn out to actually be beneficial to the planet at large. For the simple reason that it devalues the nuclear family structure and promotes new and unusual sexual expressions, that may be considered deviant at this time, but ultimately help to reduce human reproduction - which in turn helps Gaia, the Earth...

I apologize if this is too controversial of a post - just a mere observation on my part! LOL

I don't think that extinction is as good an option as overpopulation.

This Les U. Knight has a narrow view that there can only be two options, it's either "us or them" ("them" being all other species). But he fails to realize that 1: humans are a part of the biosphere too, and 2: there are humans (albeit a few) who are actually working hard to help nature.

According to those evironmental egg heads. They all say it is too late to fix Earth now. At the current rate of our global population, we could exhaust the natural resources in less than 1000 years. The process for reversing the damage would be very costly, majority of the modern governments refuse to accept. They are too dimwittedly focused on personal profits over global sustainability.

I indeed understand what you try to mean. My own psychology makes me almost asexual with all human beings, which means it will be very difficult for me to procreate indeed since I have trouble being attracted.

Planet Earth has a disease called life, and now the disease has mutated into people. The disease of people is likely to infect other planets. That's one way to look at it.

There is a very simple solution to this, but I don't see any of you who believe you are doing the right thing by not having kids carrying it out -- Just go die. If you really think the world is better off without people, then why just deny it your kids, why not deny it you, too?

The very fact that you don't do that, just goes to show that you actually aren't selfless like you claim. You are in fact the opposite.

It takes a selfless person to have and rear kids and put all of your time and energy into those fantastic little people because that's what a good parent does -- put their needs ahead of your own. You aren't willing to do that, so you make up a fiction about how selfless you are being to save the planet by being selfish and keeping all of your life to yourself to live as you desire.

Just do me one favor:

When you are all old and decrepit and childless, don't look to my son to pay into those social programs that support you all.
