Love this topic. Gamma-oscillations are absolutely the correlate to the elevated consciousness; they arise during meditation by experienced meditators, and even more so when these meditators are told to think of unconditional loving kindness. This gamma-wave brain emission is also correlated with the so called heavenly state. Essentially, it is occurring when you disengage your ego and reacquaint yourself with the universal spirit, this is when the magic starts to happen. (This is why you're supposed to love unconditionally and have no selfish thoughts)
