Here I am living and dying
In the house of bones
Or so it seems to be.
Is this my only destiny?
Or am I much more
Than what the eye sees.
For to be a body alone
Of name, of race
May hold a certain honour
A certain taste.
But also it may be
A slaves collar
That grasps my spirit in chaste.
Who would sign up
For such a life in waste
One must surely struggle
In search of ones sacred space.
I for one, this I have done
And in doing so, at times.
Had lost touch with my ally.
My earthly companion.
In this journey
We may not have grown,
But the body, like the horse
Has wondered in to the lands
Of the unknown.
Blessed be our liaison.
This much I have known.
Better together,
Than to quest fully alone.
