I can see what you are saying.

But it is my experience that truth evolves much like we do. No matter how sure you are, its never absolute and finite.

A saying I like to repeat to myself. Its not the better answer I seek or the ultimate answer. Its the better question I quest for.

Nothing is finite. Not even truth. Good, evil, these things we build and make. These are constructs of our age and civilization. They change as our era and world does.

No cause is greater than the age or the people who machined away in it.

There is no noble cause. Only choices we make that we can agree on or not collectively. The agreeing or disagreeing is not definitive. Its irrelevant.

The only truth that exists is your truth. Everything else is an illusion we CHOOSE, in its infinite scope and range....or at least our scope and range.

totally disagree with you on one point, the truth IS black and white... it is the concept of right and wrong that changes with time, and across cultures and people.. but never the truth, the truth simply is.. it doesn't change with the wind nor care whether or not it is acknowledged.

The truth is a fact that can never change...But you are correct, finding it often begins with asking the right questions. How people act upon the truth will vary...

I would like to qualify this by adding "some" Westerners.
There are plenty of people even here who do not buy the paranoid bs a lot of other members post about their own government being behind everything that ever happens in their countries. There are a lot of people who do understand what the word evidence means.

You see it as black and white, and that is entirely true and valid. It is your truth as you have chosen it. Thats kind of my point.

My truth is not, and I assure you we are both right. That is the reality we have chosen. The reality we make and search for in greater measure or finite point of existence.

Here is an example before I go to bed.

A blind man walks by a garden and smells fresh mint. In his daily walk this garden is beautiful in his mind, he imagines it is well tended to and plush and over flowing with fresh herbs, mint he always notices.

The man who owns the garden is old, and though he used to tend to it and care for each plant, the garden has overgrown with weeds. It is ugly to him compared to the formidable beauty it once held when he was young and strong enough to care for it.

Who is right? What is the truth? Is the garden beautiful still? The blind man will say so. Is the garden neglected and ugly? The old man will say so.

The blind man could touch only the mint and pick it and bring it to his nose and prove himself right. The old man could touch the weeds, pick them up and cut his hands and prove himself right.

If only the blind man could open his eyes, find the weeds and cut his hands picking them....if only the old man could pick the mint, close his eyes and smell it as the blind man......

Truth would be the two....not the one or the other. But both are true in their scope and range.

I'd suggest it's a multi-threaded problem.

1. Proven Conspiracies - so you get things like MK Ultra, Watergate, the Tuskagee Syphillis Conspiracy, Operation Northwoods, COINTELPRO/
   
2. Highly Probable Conspiracies - now you get down to the likely conspiracies, UK Intelligence files on WNDs in Iraq, JFK Assassination; RFK Assassination, death of Princess Diana and subequent manipulation of the evidence, the death of Dr David Kelly, Gareth Williams strange death, the Marconi suicides.
   
3. Possible Conspiracies - faked moon landings, Aliens at Area 51, Admiral Byrd and Operation Highjump.
   
4. Disinformation - very hard to tell what's disinformation as that's the point of it, any or all of my suggestions could be disinformation programmes desigmed to muddy the waters and truth around the genuine conspiracties.
   
5. Cloud Cuckoo Land and the rest - Hitler survived the war and enjoyed a long retirement in Argentina.
   
6. Pure Coincidence - people just think there was something dodgy, but in reality it was just bad luck, poor judgement, accident, or other.
   

Now you can shuffle those around to your hearts content, whether you agree with my or not my point, apart from that first group. They were genuine conspiracies that were denied, covered up, lied about, but every laat one of them was true. t the other end of the scale you get what I would consider the more obscure ideas and theories, which may prove to be correct or not. The nasty element is the deliberate disinformation element, such as the CIA going along with UFO sightings to cover up the development of high performance high technology aircraft, that has caused so much confusion as to make the proper study of the subject almost impossible due to lies within lies within lies.

Just because it's a conspiracy theory now doesn't mean it might not be the genuine truth, but it also means it could be utter unkum, the problem is the purveryors of disnformaiion make the accurate assessment of each theory very difficult because they go to such lenghts to discredit those involved, introduce their own characters and stories, and before you know it people lose interest and walk away dismissing the entire business as fringe lunatic ideas and genuine conspiracies continue ther work unabated.

The sheer fact Governments, the media, the military and major corporations among others can be shown to engage in coverups, have engaged in prrevious conspracies, and currently engage in active disinformation programmes rather suggesrs they can't be trusted to tell the truth.

Look at the UK now with what were formerly allegations of child sexual abuse by members of the British Establisment and elite. A short while ago it was rumour and specualtiona, now there are men serving crimianlly short sentences, dead men have been exposed as vile perverts who had the activiites covered up by the Police, security services, and parliament. The more that is exposed the deeper the corruption revealed, it's early days, so far only media types have been sacrificed in the courts and the names of dead men thrown to quell public unrest, but that won't last forever end the whole disgusting ediface of a UK conspiracy will be revealed and the guilty brough before a court to be prosecuted. Three or four years ago you would have been accuesed of slander, defamation, idle curiousity, etc in regard of this matter!

Conspiracies are very real in some cases.

I agree with you. I like the way you broke it down. I wouldnt move things around too much.

As far as disinformation yes its difficult to make things out. What I think is very telling is looking at disinformation of other decades that was geared to the popular trends of the day. The official responses that just played off "old time journalism" and what the state of the public was. Like if an official story was challenged they would accuse the challenger of being a secret communist. The national defence line is both true and too convenient. SOME UFOs could have been left as unexplained officially. There was no need to say freaking swamp gas is to blame. I dont really think this is done anymore. I cant remember the last time swamp gas caused mass hysteria.

The population changes and the standard of what people are willing to accept as truth changes. That means any official lie is going to change its standards too. Like I said, its interesting to see the official responses that we can NOW tell are outright ludicrous disinfo. Its a talent to be able to see what is disinfo now, though mostly is impossible. The craftsmen know their trade very well.

There are grey areas. Like WMD in Iraq. They really thought they were going to find SOMETHING. The reason is because they had been building Iraq's chemical weapons capabilities for decades right along with Europe (France, Germany and Russia. They couldnt believe that the weapons inspectors were actually working. Their disinfo selling the war was based on the very real possibility that Iraq had these weapons, THEY PUT THEM THERE LOL....So the lies were mixed with truth. Its not that the lie was about the existence of them, it was about the possible origin. They arent going to explain WHY they were so sure, because that would make them and Europe look like loons for arming them in the first place when eliminating Iran was a common goal for the west.

Then there is the dark truth that some will argue as necessary evil. Look at domestic spying. ANYONE who thinks it didnt happen before is just plain wrong. Everyone knew that governments spied on their people in other times. Going back to the commie witch hunts to the spying that caught the zimmerman note, to the efforts to find counterfeiters during the entirety of our existence as a country. People Just didnt want to know too much about it because there was more trust in government and there was a simpler truth. Bad things happen and so there are necessary evils.

Other such necessary evils we now question and rightfully so are the heavy hand of powerful government agencies. When they were fighting organized crime we didnt mind if they used heavy weapons and tactics against them....They spied on American citizens, interrogated and beat the snot out of their "guests", shot up buildings with military grade weapons....and the public applauded them, so nothing was really hidden. The FBI were the cover boys for necessary evil.

TRY telling an average person that the NSA is a necessary evil. They know that even if the NSA was removed that another agency would need to take their place to monitor possible threats in our communications. The problem with the NSA is that they overstepped their boundaries. If ever they are replaced by another agency that is just as bad the necessary evil argument for disinfo will be replaced by one of legal transparency and adherence to their limits and the law. The NSA used to not spy on our people for the most part. They didnt have to, others were geared to. They were very good at not risking their integrity unless a warrant was issued for internal communications. NOW, not so much. LOL. If they are ever replaced the replacements will need to scream and shout about the law and warrants and everything else, THEN they can use the necessary evil argument once established down the road.

Disinformation is cater made and evolves as peoples ability to discern it does.

There are absolutely outright conspiracies. The JFK conspiracy? TRY to get away with that now. The entire international community would be investigating under the lead of the UN if we lost a president like that. They wouldnt even ask for permission. It would be so much harder to explain away the death as that of ats of a random commie traitor shooter. NO ONE would buy it. You couldnt even use the typical boogie man of our day, random terrorist, or random domestic terrorist. The security and protection is to great. Our capabilities are too great. So if it were done it would have to look natural and the disinfo to follow would be about the ailing health of the president that we didnt know about.
