Yes, the people of Arkansas actually voted this nutter in. Cotton is not shy at all about just how far America should go with Iran. But hey! Bombing Iran is not the same as going to war with them anyway right??

Arkansas Sen. Tom Cotton, a leader of Republican resistance to the emerging Iranian nuclear deal, predicted Thursday that U.S. military strikes on Iran could cripple its nuclear capabilities without leading to a full-scale war.

"The United States military has amazing capabilities," Cotton told Capital Download, USA TODAY's weekly video newsmaker series. He said past Israeli air force attacks on nuclear facilities in Iraq and Syria and President Obama's own statements about a "military option" indicate that "air and naval bombing of Iran's nuclear facilities would in fact work."

www.usatoday.com...

You know Cotton is a vet himself. Surely he understands first hand what war is like and how costly it is? Surely he's not stupid enough to actually believe there will be no consequences from just bombing Iran? Or is the all that green money from defense contractors blocking any kind of rationality? I can't for the life me understand how people like this get elected?

The wars in Afghanistan and Iraq worked out so well that another one should make the US even more safe from the terrorists.

MEH ...Infantry.
Reagan was Cav.
NO WE DON'T need to start another WAR with Iran with a DAMN military STRIKE.
Without STRONG EVIDENCE they are BUILDING an actual weapon I DON'T agree at all.
Once they decide to agree to inspection ONLY then will we lift the santions if they continue and we actually prove they have done so THEN they could be hit AFTER the world agrees.
Not some hot head senator.

Because dropping bombs on countries have worked so well in the past!!!
Only if we bomb them to oblivion!! Otherwise they seem to only get more angry at us and more determined to have the nukes for protection and they are right once they have the nukes we tend to leave them alone! But well we seem to have screwed the whole world to fund these stupid wars and that tactic will no longer provide enough funds to support the wars so my suggestion to those who really want the wars be they the defense contractors, politicians, or stockholders and insane civilians is that yous open your pockets up and fund the danged wars yourself!!
otherwise take option two drop our nukes all over the middle east and send the whole area into oblivion! that should do wonders to bring peace to the world since it will wipe out the human race and the planet can start over again!

of course you could take option three and well acknowledge that the price that was paid for the last few wars was the loss of integrity of our dollar and just accept that it doesn't reign supreme anymore! but that isn't gonna happen is it?

He made some good points, too bad Obama didn't make them before he started negotiations.

I'm from Arkansas and suffered the excruciating years of expensive TV campaign ads for Cotton. I will tell you how he got elected. He had so much corporate money from out-of-state sources for his campaign (Arkansas is beyond poor, you know), but we all know by now how rotten the campaign finance system is (thanks so much, Supreme Court. They are like Obama with his executive orders). I watched the one debate in which he condecended to pretend to participate, just to see the spectacle. He employed the smart strategy of not saying anything. He repeated a few words and phrases like "Obama" and "my opponent cast THE DECIDING VOTE for 'Obamacare'" over and over, like Pryor passed the law all by himself, and used the words Pryor and Obama together in almost every sentence. His words were strategically vacuous for a vacuous electorate. He said nothing, similar to the winning strategy G. W. Bush used in his presidential debate with Gore. I have voted republican MANY times. But I see the whole rotten system for what it has become and will probably never vote again. It is an illusion that our government is "of, by, and for the people" anymore. It's all about what entities have the money. Cotton is an attention-craving narcissist who will probably be president in the near future. That is the way the oligarchs want it. The oligarchs own everyone in government, and politics/government is just a spectator sport that everyone loves to watch and believe their team can win. Smaller government, my a**. If the goal is to have smaller government, then why is it in our faces everywhere we look night and day? Government is the best friend big business ever had! Politicians take all the heat for the real powers, the oligarchs. It is about as real as fantasy football. It's a new, very bad day in America.

a number of politicians, mostly republican it seems, have decided to take impossible, unrealistic positions with regards to foreign affairs. they want to believe in a world that has been dead for some time.

eventually, most will learn to ignore their obnoxious opinions that will never happen.

Can you provide a link to a "good nuke deal" that Nutter Ayatollah Obama has recently achieved?

The Senate is one vote from 60 on resolution to mandate Senate oversight of any Iran deal...shattering Obama's diplomacy fatwa.

THERE is my worry now.
Obama has gone WAY beyond his authority Constitutionally ,with social activism, now all we need is Jeb to swing WAY too far the other way,by some Cheyney appointee, commanding a Lemay type leader in the military.

the President knows more about the Constitution than the lawmakers...my opinion is that some republicans are overstepping and, in some cases, rejecting the Constitution and refuse to accept the true nature of American society, its Government and its founding documents because of the fundamental changes that have taken place which they cannot change or influence.

there is nothing to worry about and they know it... something is obviously trying to program perpetual conflict into the American system in the hopes of subverting the State and replacing it with yet another fraud; its not going to work and if they continue, I predict the destruction of the republican party.

its a damn shame their parents have lied to them.

its surprising that so many tough guys in this world live in constant fear and sell that fear...

Can we pack this moron up and ship him off to Israel where he belongs? The President is trying to find a peaceful way to deal with Iran and this SOB wants to attack for no reason other than the lies the new age Hitler that runs Israels keeps spouting. If we do bomb Iran can we tie this idiot and his 46 buddies to the first missiles being shot in.

Like what? What was ONE good point he made? All I see is just another war monger politician promoting another war of aggression towards a country that doesn't deserve it. This one wouldn't even have trumped up charges that the Iraq war did. It's just flat out a war crime.

Well lah dee dar, we have a political marionette for Israel making an asseveration that he has no idea will unfold in his puppet master's favour...

Dance goyim monkey, dance....
Feed me my grapes...
Fan my sweaty pig face...

Do all three at once...

For the pleasure of doing so I will only charge you $1billion per jester-ship...

Iran should buy some nukes off Russia and tell every one else to f# off.

its only a matter of time before it becomes obvious to the whole country that the idea of war with Iran is just cover for certain republicans to wage war against the United States for the benefit of a foreign power.

what kind of punishment would be appropriate for a US Lawmaker to receive if they are caught engaging in such activities?

Ah yes, let's use loaded words like "Ayatollah" and "Fatwa" to really drive home the (false) idea that Obama is a muslim! A dirty, dirty terrorist muslim!

Sure, let's strike Iran, and basically ENSURE they pursue the bomb.

If so ,then treason of course.
Your theory is plausable, but again they are both messing up equally badly.
Centrism is the best choice.
