DEFCON 3 status now? Canadian Air Foce involement with hostile actors.

Dear ATS'ers,

Been a while since I started a thread on here, but would appreciate some more info from thopse more knowledgeable than myself in the DEFCON Alert System.

This afternoon I came across info that it had been moved from DEFCON 5 to DEFCON 4....thats was only a mere two hours ago.

It has now been upgraded to DEFCON 3 status.

DEFCON Warning System

We must stress that we can not confirm what is actually happening, and we have no official word on events. We must react to the information on hand.

We will continue to update as information comes in.

The DEFCON Warning System is a private enterprise which monitors world events and assesses nuclear threats against the United States by national entities. It is not affiliated with any government agency and does not represent the alert status of any military branch. The public should make their own evaluations and not rely on the DEFCON Warning System for any strategic planning. At all times, citizens are urged to learn what steps to take in the event of a nuclear attack.

If this had been an actual attack, the DEFCON Warning System will give radiation readings for areas that are reported to it. Your readings will vary. This system serves northern Stevens County, Washington and Hutchinson County, Texas. Official news sources will have radiation readings for your area.

At DEFCON 4 status it stated that there were some concerns about events unfolded in the iinternational arena. There was no immediate threat to the USA just a warning to stay alert....or pretty close to those words.

Now the quotation above is very concerning, given what is happening and what we dont know about in Moscow!

Look at the quote above......Canadian Forces engaged with hostile actors......WTF?

Is this really happening, please tell me this is a hoax and throw this thread in the bin.

Pretty sure that's not an official DEFCON page.

Find us an official gov page stating so and we should take it seriously, until then, it's just a false alarm

I would hope its a website being a bit of a drama queen and nothing more than that. My step daughter is currently on deployment in Canada but its all scheduled training and she is not doing much other than shop and ski so I seriously doubt its anything to take seriously

USA is simply integrating Canada further into its war machine

Canada has to more actively start fighting and dying for US military industrial complex

Im sure this post will be removed faster than a Russian President but if your daughter is on deployment in Canada, I can tell you she is doing MUCH more that shopping and Skiing.

They call it Apres Ski in Europe.

Operation Joint Viking is going on in Norway right now, And Russia are at the same time doing a full alert drill up North.

So far nothing dangures is going on up here. Russia is keeping their distance and so are we.

This alert, whether semi-official or official is at most an indication that Putin has been put to pasture and, for the time being, our people don't know exactly what to expect and they follow that old Zen proverb:

"Expect nothing. Be prepared for anything."

Maybe the Canadian's are gonna burn down the White House again.

Defcon is initiated by the POTUS. And unified defense officials of North America. If you read your own site it says they have no way of k owing about the defcon level. It's confidential.

Been listening to Shortwave Radio a lot over the last couple of days, namely US Military Channels and Russia's UVB-76 "The Buzzer". The Buzzer has mostly been steady, with a few interruptions that I attribute to propagation, but 8992 (Andrews AFB EAM Channel) has been really active over the last few days. Could be because of the exercises, could be something else.

I'm betting on exercises.

Military exercises in Canada at the moment are likely shoveling snow......
