What are you talking about?

It's obvious that you still don't get it. Anytime the US got involved in a war was because not their safety was put at risk, but because they wanted to gain control over that country and oil. Do you remember all the excuses the US gave to justify their invasions? I mean, any logical person could see trough that BS.

The closest example of what's currently happening in the Ukraine, is the Cuban crisis. That was a justified move by the US and they acted extremely well. But then again, back then it was different people running the US...

If Russia allows for Ukraine to join NATO and have their bases that close to their borders, that would mean, in a potential war between them would give massive advantage to NATO. Therefore, this represents a direct threat to Russian safety.

So please tell me, where did you notice double standards?

One other thing you might want to think about...if the US were sending weapons as in offensive weapons the Ukrainian military would have not had a problem against the separatists, even with Russia's help.

What? Do you really think the people fighting for Ukraine would know how to use those weapons? I mean, haven't you wondered what's the point the US and NATO are sending military personnel to train Ukrainian military?

Wow, so after all you are now seriously denying that the US supplying Ukrainians with military weapons?! You must really think we are that dumb.

And you didn't "get me". I explained everything in the post above this one.

As i've said so many times before, Russia cannot allow for Ukraine to join NATO and have their bases that close.

Can I ask you a question...

Where was Russia's outrage when Ukraine was applying to NATO in 2008...why didn't they do then, what they are doing now?

Sure.

It's because back then, they were weak, and they needed more time to organize their military and fix their economy. I don't remember, was it Medvedev or Putin ( can't remember correctly ), giving boldly statements about how you should not mess with the bear, etc. Now, they are in the position to act that way.

'Start Killing Russians': Outrageous Outburst by Fox News Military Analyst

Well I wouldn't expect Russia's gov't owned propaganda machine to do do anything less as they took the man's words out of context.

A little about the source sputnik news...

Sputnik is an international multimedia news service launched on 10 November 2014 by Rossiya Segodnya, an agency wholly owned and operated by the Russian government, which was created by a Decree of the President of Russia on 9 December 2013.[1] Sputnik replaces the RIA Novosti news agency and the Voice of Russia international radio broadcaster.

en.wikipedia.org...

Not really the truth bearing source.

Yet ATS socialists post this"Source"as bible on a daily basis then whine about authentic, accredited news sites as western brainwashing propaganda.Clueless..

Here maybe this will help.

САД не шаље офанзивног оружја у Украјину.

Hope that helps you understand what I said about what the US is sending Ukraine. But feel free to list those weapons since you seem to be dead sure they are.

And you didn't "get me". I explained everything in the post above this one.

Was I supposed to?

I mean, any logical person could see trough that BS.
And yet you don't see through Russia's BS. It's the same story the US has been spouting for decades "We have to invade Iraq because WMDs", "We have to invade Afghanistan because there's terrorists who hate American and want to destroy it".

"We have to Invade Ukraine because they want to join NATO and destroy us."

Sounds like the same record, only with a different accent.

And you're telling me there's a difference? I don't like what the U.S. has done in the past. Many here don't. And for that VERY same reason, I don't agree with what Russia is doing today.

It's really that simple.

Probably the part where you said the U.S. needs to stay out of Ukraine, while in the same breath talking about how Russian can't/won't allow Ukraine to do something. How you can't see telling one country to butt out and not another country the same as being a double standard is, frankly, shocking.

Russia is a long way away from being a great super power again.

Their economy needs a lot of work..

Soldiers are under trained..

General up keep of military platforms is not so good either.

Lot of work needed on their infrastructure, none of this is fixable over night.

Add in the corruption that will slow fixing the above..

With all its natural resources and the hardiness of its people Russia should be the power in the world.

Well I see you missed the point altogether.

The point is this is all just BS by Putin saying Russia is worried about NATO in Ukraine when it almost happened before and yet they didn't show the same outrage...interesting.

I don't remember, was it Medvedev or Putin ( can't remember correctly ), giving boldly statements about how you should not mess with the bear, etc.

You do know even though Putin wasn't president he was still running the gov't. Medvedev was just there so that Putin could run and be president again nothing more.

So that would be Putin.

Now, they are in the position to act that way.

Not even in the slightest does that give them the right to do what they are doing, and act the way they are.

Well lets see, Ukraine, its proximity and involvement with Russia makes it a Russian interest, not to mention Russian citizens live there.

US, sets up a fascist regime that starts killing women and children until Russia steps in.

The rest doesnt' matter any more at this point. US stay out of Russia's concerns, and put your real interest on ISIL, your creation, that is raping, murdering, beheading, selling women and children for sex, and get a move on! Stop them, really really stop them, and don't drop bombs on towns they've hijacked calling them Isil strongholds so you can satanically ritually sacrifice women and children.

Get a move on!

Which is why my comments are true...the US is not sending offensive weapons to Ukraine.

Not really, it just shows you guys aren't sending them anything advance that could give them an advantage over the rebels, but just the "basic" stuff.

But see, this actually makes a lot of sense to me. Because, how else could you explain the reason behind the NATO expansion towards Russia after the dissolution of the warsaw pact? For what purpose?
If you think what could be done by a anti-missile system set up in Ukraine, you would see it makes sense why Russia can't allow it.

Probably the part where you said the U.S. needs to stay out of Ukraine, while in the same breath talking about how Russian can't/won't allow Ukraine to do something. How you can't see telling one country to butt out and not another country the same as being a double standard is, frankly, shocking.

But look, you are right. But the thing is, we dont live in that kind of world. We live in a world where international laws dont apply to superpowers and they can do whatever they want. But i explained it too many times in this thread alone why's it not shocking, but "justified".

Anyways, i think i've said everything that i needed to say. Anything else that i might say would just be repeating myself which i dislike.

Well they are, but they are on holiday with there gov't issued military hardware. Putin sure is nice to his guys to let them take that stuff with them, as you never know when you might encounter a war on your vacation.

Russia (Putin) is like the little hoodlum who sneaks into the corner store to steal cigarettes or candy, and gets caught by the corrupt policeman (the UN) who is taking bribes to protect the mob bosses (the USA).

Who exactly do you criticize in the above scenario? They're all wrong.

If I criticize Russia over Crimea or Ukraine, it doesn't mean I agree with the United States, and if I criticize the United States over illegal wars in the ME it doesn't mean I agree with Russia.

Oh I'm not, been reading articles and seen the entire thing unfold from the very beginning, with many threads so, you can recreate the wheel.

BUT THAT IS WHAT HAPPENED.
