Obama.Care is not the same as what you have.

Exactly, far from socialist or liberal, very observant of ya.

Love to see the people rejoicing in the angst of the American citizen.

Why are you so much against Obamacare??!? I don't get it. Here in Denmark we pay 39-43 % Taxes depending on where you live, but for those taxes we get FREE healthcare, free schools incl. university, and we even get money for studying! The equivalent of around 1000$ a month, on top of this we can take a studentloan for another 500$.
What is honestly so bad about healthcare paid by, by the population? Rich and poor? It makes equality, instead of making the rich richer and the poor poorer.

#USLogic #PraiseNWO

SBargisen, the problem is that they Doctors, Hospitals and Medications cost many times more here in the USA than they do in your Denmark. The 39-43% taxes you pay would be well over 50% here, if we were to emulate your system without reducing the pay of our medical providers and getting attorney's (malpractice) out of the equation.

Our political leaders are not willing to bite the hands that feed them, and Americans would riot the country back into the stone age if we had to pay even your 39-43% level of taxes!

SOMETHING WILL GIVE eventually, but I have no idea what straw will eventually break the camel's back.

Not only did the Republicans NOT pass the bill, the Dems didn't even to bother reading it prior to passing it! They know what's in it now...

So what is the GOP to do then? tinker with a system of tax credits and do a out-of-office massage like the Patient CARE Act because ACA is too in your face? So they suggest...tentatively, that some good o'l folks might get something for nothing if they are 200% below the liveable level, with a net increase for the IRS in the trllion mark from those on the sliding scalectrix. Wow, the GOP is becoming the, GOSPel, AKA the Grand Old Socialist Party, election limited!

I ran across an article the other day describing the penalties assessed to people that refuse to participate in this criminality. I started to compose a thread about it but while doing a search I found that a thread had already been circulated about this.

Say no to Obamacare, refuse to pay the penalty and get off scott free!!!

Penalty Shot
In short, failure to pay the PPACA non-compliance penalty might result in the IRS' sending you warning letters and deducting the penalty amount from your future tax refunds (if you have any), but not throwing you in jail, forcibly taking money from your bank account, or seizing your house or other property. We have also found no provision of the PPACA or IRS code that would allow the federal government to suspend an individual's driver's license as a penalty for non-compliance with the individual mandate provision of the PPACA.

What happens if I don't pay the fee?
The IRS will hold back the amount of the fee from any future tax refunds. There are no liens, levies, or criminal penalties for failing to pay the fee.

So, if a person goes to his employer and revises his/her W-4 to claim enough exemption to limit the amount withheld to actually having you pay in a small amount come tax filing season instead of getting $$$$ back in a refund, the way I see it there is no recourse to the gov. to collect these penalties.

Because if (and mighty big if) your employer kicks in for the absolute minimum policy, you pay a minimum of 10% of your income for an insurance policy that will not pay for as much as a bandaid until you pay the $6450 deductible. Want a lower deductible of say $3000? Expect to pay 20% of your income. Now mind you, you already lose 23%-35% to just regular taxes before this extra 10% minimum. Unless of course you have a high paying executive type of job that includes your total insurance expenses paid for by the company. Because your 8 figure salary isn't obscene enough to the guy making $7.25/hr emptying the trash can. (Well $4.79/hr after taxes and Obamacare)

Of course that guy will be fired because he and his friends didn't buy enough widgets last year. And worse comes to worst the executive might be let go with a golden parachute of $25 million and some stock options and two years of insurance covers as a negotiated option.

That is why we hate Obamacare. The Federal government does not have the enumerated power to require an individual to purchase anything. Let alone a worthless insurance policy that only serves to stagnate job growth and create an unnecessary financial burden on those least able to afford the instability and uncertainty.

But on the upside, as a single male I am 100% (no out of pocket cash) covered if I happen to become pregnant or need various other female procedures performed on me. So there is that...

January 1, 2016 is when the sheet will really hit the fan. That's when all employers with more than 50 employees must offer "affordable" group health insurance on every full-time (30 hours @ week) employee, or pay a $2,000 penalty to the IRS for every full-timer employed.

Do you work for Baxter's or what? Meh! don't bother answering, it's against T@C's here. But since you are so interested in disasters, let's just take a different tack, when did you get your last Hospital bill? how much did the saline drip, (a couple of tea-spoonsfuls of salt in a pretty bag) cost on it? that product was made for 46 cents in 2010 now somewhere nearer $1.46, WTF! and in a period of austerity we are told..so how much on your hospital bill then? Don't know? anything from $500 to $700 then.. so take your pick and just be grateful you got it.

Don't even begin think that this could be, even with all the infrastructure and intellectual service and technology and R@D, a fecking corporate racket!

Yeah, except that the ACA is mostly based on the worst parts of Republican plans from Romneycare all the way back to the Heritage Foundation.

A liberal plan would have been single-payer, pure and simple. Make the premium Federal Cadillac plans available to everyone.

So, swing and a miss.

Give me a break, you want to blame Obamacare problems on the Republicans?

Remember not one single Republican voted for it, not one.

The Democrats famously said they had to pass it BEFORE they read it
to find out what it said.

Darlin, this one can't be bait and switch to blame Republicans.

What a hoot!

Yep, they got rooked in; no doubt.

That's what happens when you try to cooperatively govern with Republicans.

We'll see if they learned anything in the future.

LOL, you have me rollin on the floor.

Where were you when it was passed by the Democrats ONLY
who finagled the rules so they could pass it without
a single Republican vote.
Cooperative, my tears are flowing I'm laughing so hard.

In a very decisive way this isn't my war. There is NO legislation
that can allow a person's Social Security pension to be garnished,
penalized or otherwise weaseled.
I relish the prospect of being slammed with this 'penalty' for not
signing on at all
and given standing. Heads will not roll, but tails will burn.
If you are out of the game by virtue of age or full disability, look into this.

Considering the Democrats had all the power they needed to do it exactly how they wanted and proved it by doing it all on their own, I'm not sure what your beef is. If they wanted single payer, they had no trouble doing whatever it took to pass the law. They could have done it.

And in Denmark, you outsurce most of your national security to the US via NATO. Don't worry, the EU will be wanting its own army soon enough and you will realize that financing both a military and a social democratic welfare state don't work out so well.

Btw, we pay the same tax rates for those of us who do pay taxes.

Also, are you counting in your VAT tax as part of that?
