in 2006 Al Gore said these words that struck fear into people around the world.

Here is 9 years and a dozen days later and we are no where near cooking. there is now only 326 days and the tepratures are no where near where Al Gore said they would be.

before that we had Ted Danson say in 1988, We had ten years to save the oceans; we were all going to pay the consequences, which would result in our death.

1998 came and went and not a single death from the resulted.

here are a few more predictions made over the last 35 years.

1) At the first Earth Day celebration, in 1969, environmentalist Nigel Calder warned, “The threat of a new ice age must now stand alongside nuclear war as a likely source of wholesale death and misery for mankind.”

2) The world has been chilling sharply for about twenty years. If present trends continue, the world will be about four degrees colder for the global mean temperature in 1990, but eleven degrees colder in the year 2000. This is about twice what it would take to put us into an ice age. — Kenneth Watt, Ecologist

3) A high-priority government report warns of climate change that will lead to floods and starvation. ‘Leading climatologists’ speak of a ‘detrimental global climatic change,’ threatening ‘the stability of most nations.’ The scenario is eerily familiar although the document – never made public before – dates from 1974. But here’s the difference: it was written to respond to the threat of global cooling, not warming. And yes, it even mentions a ‘consensus’ among scientists. — Maurizio Morabito

has anyone learned anything yet about these doomsday predictors.

in a Washington post article dated Jan 2006 we were told that no one would make money off the movie "inconvenient truth". "This isn't about box office," David says. "None of us are going to make a dime." What is at stake, she says, "is, you know, the planet." - Laurie David

Can guess who made money off the movie?

Did all our cutting of CO2 keep his prediction from coming true?

Are we saviors of our planet?

Al Gore has probably made more money off of fear-mongering than anyone in history.

From a VP that no one cared about to a net worth over $100 million... all because of hype.

In the meantime, Gore has made hundreds of millions of dollars selling his snake oil.

Regarding Al Gore, I feel it is incumbent on me to bring up this Mansion in Tennessee :www.google.com... 3Bhttp%25253A%25252F%25252Fwattsupwiththat.com%25252F2009%25252F03%25252F29%25252Fal-gore-snubs-earth-hour%25252F&source=iu&pf=m&fir=R805bIXFkRprfM%25 3A%252Ca-Clop-Lg9PTGM%252C_&usg=__5whHb6KWvAf1g8_1pa6eOmY4zkA%3D&biw=1366&bih=643&ved=0CDAQyjc&ei=6875VIzwHo7lsATU0oGgDA#imgrc=R805bIXFkRprfM%253A%3Ba -Clop-Lg9PTGM%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwattsupwiththat.files.wordpress.com%252F2009%252F03%252Fal-gores-home-in-nashville-2.jpg%253Fw%253D720%3Bhttp%253A% 252F%252Fwattsupwiththat.com%252F2009%252F03%252F29%252Fal-gore-snubs-earth-hour%252F%3B686%3B505

Of course I am sure this monstrosity, is solely one of many, but hey thats just speculation, the man is at the bare minimum a hypocrite based upon this home alone.

That's not what Al Gore said. You've been listening to Rush Limbaugh again...

If we do nothing, in about 10 years the planet may reach a "tipping point" and begin a slide toward destruction of our civilization and most of the other species on this planet.

After that point is reached, it would be too late for any action.

"The world won't 'end' overnight in 10 years," Gore says. "But a point will have been passed, and there will be an irreversible slide into destruction."

Source

Rush Limbaugh is a clown. I won't say anything about those who listen to him...

Alternative energy is snake oil?
Huh. Well, it isn't petroleum anyway. And it does go to show that there is money to be made in innovation.

Hi. I am in Southeastern Pennsylvania. It is March 6th and it was 3 degrees Fahrenheit this morning.
Al Gore promised me melted ice caps.
I hate Al Gore.

I want to go out into my back yard and pick tropical fruits from trees in December. Bring on your global warming, oh Manbearpig foe! It would save me about $2,400 in heating costs.

Lol...hey well not exactly...I stand corrected he has 27 solar panels I just noted, not enough to make that monster Net 0, energy, but thats a significant source of power, damn 27 panels, is a crap ton, as I have installed a 24 panel array on a 3500 sq foot house with r50+ walls and R 80 ceiling and achieved net 0, utilizing energy star appliances.

Damn I was enjoying hating on him....

Alternative energy is snake oil?

No.
Just the ones that purport to be a viable alternative energy source.

Reminder: Ever since Global Warming (AKA Climate Change) has been a topic of discussion and debate, there have been countless people who without fail, every single winter, proclaim Climate Change to be a huge hoax because their toes get cold.

You're not unique or clever in saying such.

Another reminder: Weather != Climate

Seriously, residential solar panels are an alternative. They work, I feel its vastly superior to solar farms and it keeps the "power" in the hands of the citizen.
