Grandma, if you're a Christian, I defy you to look at what you're spouting and see the lies.

You know that it was the Southern states that wanted to keep the slaves, from the founding of the Republic until the 1960s (and today). Those Southern states are now in the Republican party and they're doing the same thing they've always done. Jesse Helms and Strom Thurmond left the Democratic party when they saw they could no longer have their racist ways and became a Republicans. The modern Republican party is not the Republican party of the 1870s-1960s and you know it. Thanks to the Southern/neo-Confederate racists, yours is now the party of voter suppression.

Equally poor? Is that because the Republicans have given our tax dollars to the corporate bigwigs who make millions a year so that they will "create jobs"? Where ARE those jobs? Oh, that's right, they've been sent out of this country to China and India because there's a penny or two more profit for the 1%-er's Swiss bank accounts.

The U.S. Constitution was kind of a hurry up affair patched together from other sources.

It does allow for amendments and works as a framework to evolve with society and government changes.

In my readings I read that the Egyption constitution is really good, but don't want to go there and derail the thread.

I never could understand the American definition of what a liberal is.

It seems to be completely opposite to what the rest of the world defines a liberal as.

And no matter how many times American ATS members try to bash it through our skulls that their definition is the correct one, the rest of us continue to live in actual, for real, liberal-flavoured countries that don't so much as even have a hint of what is being claimed.

North Korea is business savvy.

They might not be in as much deep debt as other countries with Socialist tendencies.

Rights denied to gays, women and the minority cultures, religious freedoms being denied because they believe theirs is the only one that matters or is right.. ETC.
