North Korea Is A Liberal Utopia

I see North Korea as an example of the culmination of what would happen if liberals had their way in the US.

Only military and government officials can own motor vehicles...great for combating global warming.

All legal televisions are tuned to state-controlled domestic programming...helping to spread the progressive agenda.

Most North Koreans subsist on corn and kimchi, a pickled cabbage...which is good for the environment.

Annual GDP per capita is about $1,800...which keeps people relying on the government for their needs.

Electric power largely shuts down at night, and the homes that have electricity often receive only a few hours per day...which is good for the environment.

Nearly all property belongs to the state...allows for the government to allocate resources.

Religious freedom does not exist...allows liberals to have their utopia without God or religion.

North Korea has a network of informants who monitor and report to the authorities...allows liberals to keep the public safe and controlled.

Resources and education are controlled by the elite...allows the liberal intelligentsia advantages they deserve for leading the oligarchy.

North Koreans born after the Korean War are about 2 inches shorter than South Koreans on average...allowing for less consumption by the masses.

Only 2.83% of the roads in North Korea are paved...which is good for the environment.

Marijuana is legal and not considered a drug...allows for a more controllable population.

North Korea is officially not Communist it is "Juche"...liberals are not communists (they told you so).

North Korea has 51 "Social Categories" ranked by their loyalty to the regime...allows for better social engineering.

In the last 60 years, over 23,000 North Koreans have defected to South Korea. Only two South Koreans have gone to the North...which solves the illegal immigration problem.

North Korea has its own operating system called Red Star OS...which allows for the Government to keep their citizens safe from Western influences.

Possessing Bibles is punished by death in North Korea...allows liberals to stamp out Christians and their annoying religion.

Wearing jeans is illegal in North Korea...not sure how this is useful, but what the heck.

North Korea holds elections every 5 years in which the ballots list only one candidate...keeps the liberal oligarchs in power.

Similar to Socialism.

Just remember that a liberal and a democrat in America today are two very separate things. Don't get ahead of yourself in judging people and ideas based solely on misplaced labels you are predisposed to disliking. The political climate in the US is more diverse than it has ever been and some of those you may think you despise because of a label may just hold some of your most fundamental beliefs dear.

A liberal in the mind of somebody like Metallicus and especially among the 'usual' gang of ATS right-wing reactionaries isn't really that specific of a thing. They would be hard pressed to define liberal, I'm sure. It's more of an emotion attached to this vague notion of everything that's wrong with the world as they see it made human.

It could be easily argued that North Korea is really just a copy of Stalin-ism, which most definitely is not a liberal form of government. A popular definition for liberalism is a political or social philosophy advocating the freedom of the individual, parliamentary systems of government, nonviolent modification of political, social, or economic institutions to assure unrestricted development in all spheres of human endeavor, and governmental guarantees of individual rights and civil liberties, which it doesn't appear North Korea really adhere to in the least...

Everyone in the middle class would pay in taxes whatever it took to bring their income down to just above poverty level so there would be no income inequality.

All politicians and their corporate, filthy rich and hollywood donors would be exempt from income taxes because they are so kind and generous and know what is best for the rest of the US. They need the private jets to pay mercy visits to flyover country to see how to fix the way American's live to make it fairer for the little people.

No one would be allowed to offend others by wearing any jewelry that expressed Judism or Christianity.
Burkas would be allowed for drivers license photos, and anyone in one would be exempt from being searched at the airport, out of respect for differing cultures.

By law no one would be allowed to eat more than 675 calories at any one meal, monitored by the state, with stiff penalties for eating more than 600 calories at any given time, to keep the people healthy of course.

Everyone would get a free "fitbit" and be required to connect their readings which will be sent to the government for evaluation once a week, to ensure the health of the people.

The government would run all businesses and no one could be fired from a job. To be fair to everyone and to make sure everyone who wants a job has one. Ensuring that no one had to actually do their job or care about their job or create or innovate. At the same time "protected" classes would be allowed to opt out of being persecuted by "the man" by having to get a job.

That definition comes no where close to defining the current liberal in modern USA. It is closer to the Libertarian American than it is to the so call neo-liberal progressive in the US.

Those are old fashioned liberal ideas, what JFK believed and old style liberals believed.

Today's American liberal, according to the agenda they are pushing,
believe in tight thought control through social and economic penalties for language they find offensive.

Today's American liberal agenda is the opposite of individual rights or civil liberties
for the "unprotected" classes
only for the "protected" classes.

Today's American liberal has totalitarian leanings
and with the way that the liberal President is behaving
leans toward authoritarian dictatorship which ignores rule of law
for rule by the ivy league upper class authoritarianism with a
bent for total surveillance of the populace
to ensure continuation of the authoritarian dictatorship style of rule
