just first and only on the moon a dozen times mind you.

You can thank Nazi Germany, operation paperclip, Von Braun and Grand-daddy Bush for being first on the moon.

And you can thank them also for being the first (and only) country to Nuke another country, twice, because they did not surrender fast enough.

I love the geography of America, it is almost as beautiful as Australia. I also love the American folks - on an individual level.

I cannot articulate into words how much I loathe your government, your thug limited IQ cops, your politicians (Ron Paul excepted), your forked-tongued Lawyers and your deceitful banking cartels.

Have you ever left American borders and seen the world?

The world is an amazing place, full of diversity and multiculturalism. Moreso than America.

Lol...really?

America is by far the most diverse country in the history of man.

There is nothing you can't find here.

BTW I travelled... I went to Canada once...it sucjs, it is wet and cold... Stay in America where it doesn't suck.

Well, America WAS exceptional until our crappy politicians started intentionally tearing down the core of what made this nation great. No one has been more to blame for our decline than the last two presidents, Bush and Obama.

You would almost need to have lived 40 or 50 years to observe and understand where we were and how far we have fallen. I don't see a belief in American Exceptionalism as 'destructive', but we need to be vigilant or we will end up too much like Europe and other socialist countries.

The good news is that I am still exceptional. You? I'm not so sure about.

Despite your argument belittling that badly phrased description of America's influence in the world. You need to take a step away from your anger and accept that if America didn't do it, who will? Where to you set the blame or good fortune for American exceptionalism (AE)? Do you remember that two world wars were basically won by American capabilities and the winning of those wars guided the modern world toward a better, more civilized whole? Where would we be if communism with its rigid ways and slaughtering of millions and millions had won its way? Or the same with nazism? American ideology is not perfect, but it is better than some and, most importantly, has aided in the growth of those that may be even more humane.

Capitalism is the big, bad thing about American exceptionalism? Why is that when the majority of the world's largest and smallest countries have found that aspects of capitalism have yielded them many favors in the world market?

How about our military stance where we spend almost more money on military related concerns that the rest of the world combined? Doesn't much of that relates back to battles over ideology if not actually keeping you safe? It is not mere happenstance that we know what ideologies are not so beneficial for the advancement of the human existence. AE means that we have stood alone in keeping the world safe from regimes that would totally rule the globe. Oh, yes, we have strong, unpopular influences across the world and have made some terrible mistakes in tilting events toward what we would have. Yet, the bottom line, is who else would, could, will step up and take up the flag? What do we see today? We see the flagging of exceptionalism across the board starting with the US and nodding on down to the wasting away the old world powers even as we observe and comment. Europe and GB once had its time, but that is gone, too much protected by our might and given to lull itself into a state of stagnation in the political sphere while thinking that economic success would win the day and keep the real enemy at bay and, besides, America will still protect us and therefore we need not be too much concerned about the bad guys that live right across the border might be thinking.

In the final analysis, if it was not for "American Exceptionalism" the world would be in one hell of a different shape, and more than likely you wouldn't like it either unless you are of a particular mean-spirited ideology or way of thinking.

I served 6 years...I never once left my home because I wanted to visit a 3rd works #hole.

America has stopped ww3 several times by proxy wars fought in 3rd world #holes.

Small scale wars instead if letting the tentions boil over into world wars.

The wespibs are too powerful today.

They can and will make Dresden look like a ballet recital.

Modern 1st world militaries in open "total war" can wipe a million man city off the map in a night or two.

With just conventional weapons... No nukes needed.

The 20th century is lucky American leadership broke the cycle Europe started and would have continued without our intervention.

The Industrial Revolution gave us all that we have today. It began in Great Britain, thus making Britain the greatest nation that has ever graced the planet. Britain also laid the foundations that is now The U.S..

I will leave you with this quote

Economic historians are in agreement that the onset of the Industrial Revolution is the most important event in the history of humanity since the domestication of animals, plants and fire.

The world is an amazing place you're right, I'm not denying that. But there's no other country on the planet that is more diverse than America and that's a fact. 300+ million and every single country is represented. Every one of those 300 million people have come together and formed the most powerful nation on Earth that is amazing in my opinion.

And I haven't even gotten into the natural beauty of this country.

We might have our issues, but that doesn't mean I can't be proud to live here and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I'm sure all those countries that America has interfered with politically and secretly would disagree. I am sure all those countries America has declared war on in the last 100 years would disagree.

I am damn sure Iraq disagrees.

No, it really isn't a fact. Perhaps it is a fact in your own head but the rest of the world completely disagrees with you.

And I haven't even gotten into the natural beauty of this country.

You really haven't seen much of the world have you?
