Nice way to hi-jack a thread. You have more posts on here than all others combined nearly. I can see you are passionate about this, and I get it. Now that you have derailed this thread maybe you can put your passion into one of your own. You would be much more applauded that way, by those of like mind at least. You might be right, you might be wrong but pestering people here is not helping your agenda.

I am a huge fan of amphibians and random bugs and I would say that is one of the cutest series of pictures I've ever seen. I swear he's smiling. Macro photography is an amazing art!

I must admit I looked at the threads that Jakal linked to and learned something new today and I don't feel that he hijacked the thread by posting information related directly to the fabricating of images like this by Indonesian photographers (although I will agree the delivery of the message could have been a little softer).

Perhaps you missed the edit that I made that stated the reason for my many posts, verses one that was inclusive of all those I intended to reply to.

................
I guess the definition of "hijacking" a thread these days is posting factual information..
...whodda thunk it.

I'm just saying if P.E.T.A. gave me an agenda speech every time someone says "hamburger" it just makes me want to eat a hamburger. And if you are gonna respond to everyone who says "that is cute" with your own personal agenda then you are not gaining anything, you are just alienating your intended targets. Like I said before. Start a rebuttal thread cuzz your point has been stated here repeatedly already.
Yes you are right I indeed did miss that edit.

NO WAY!!!!

That is awesome if it is real but it looks kinda fake because of the water spots on the beetle.

Please be real lol.

As a matter of fact, I have some deer burger thawing and am going to cook up some awesome supper with it (yeah, I killed the deer....gutted, processed, and put the bugger in the freezer myself too).....so get off your "you have an agenda" high horse and come down here and speak to me, buddy.

And if you are gonna respond to everyone who says "that is cute"

The other day (as I stated in a comment in this very thread) I ran across an article about how a lot (note: I did NOT say all) of these type pictures are staged like this. I found it interesting. I didn't come to ATS to post it, I just read it and went on about the day.

A few days later, along comes this thread. I remember I had recently read the article and went to see if I could find it so I could post it. The reason for it was my disbelief that a frikkin' frog would be RIDING a beetle. (Hint: The one that gives it away is the one where the frog is all "8 seconds" on the beetle, with one hand in the air and one on it's back. Yeah, that one kinda gives the staged nature of it away...poof, there comes memory of said article)

So...I couldn't find the exact article and I posted something else that I hurriedly dug up as I wasn't particularly interested in spending half a day looking for the exact article but had said something about it and wanted a bit of evidence.
Someone else came along and posted the exact article I had initially read and was looking for.

Others engaged me about it, in a variety of fashions. I was responding to them.
Do you generally ignore members who ask you direct questions just because you respond to other members?

I couldn't do it all in one comment...that is explained in an earlier comment.

If I gave enough of a sh*t, I would start some "rebuttal thread" on the thing. However, I don't...honestly.
There are more pressing violations and inhumanities in the world that need attention before this (if such is occurring...eg, pain, suffering, torture, death...all that jazz)

We have a long ways to go before this [the stagings] is the worst that humans do....so, when that time comes (don't hold your breath) I'll go ahead and make that thread. Until then, I'll respond as I see fit...so

.............
And yeah, I'm a bit "harsh". (I've never came here and claimed to be otherwise and I wasn't aware that was a fatal flaw, nor a crime.....yet)

I agree and dont mean to be argumentative. I mistook you for an activist with the need to push your point. Your right it is not gonna go away anytime soon. I mean I cant count how many ants I fried with a magnifying glass when I was a kid. Dont find such things so interesting anymore but some people still do I guess. I also care very little about this as a problem the world faces when there are so many scarier problems out there. Honestly dont know why I replied to begin with. Usually I just shrug and say "what ever".

I agree.
It's ok to be "argumentative" though. I mean, that is what discussion/debate boards are about in some ways, no?

Sometimes, purpose (or lack thereof) and intent are lost in translation so it is easy for me to see how mistaking me for an activist could have happened. I did get a laugh from it though. Of all things I've been accused, never have I been accused of being an insects rights advocate (or has the accusation that I am in any way, shape, or form involved with the likes of PETA)......Heck, I still slaughter my own chickens and all that "old timer" stuff (only 30 btw)....so, PETA and others won't find a friend here.

Now those truly concerned about our treatment of animals before slaughter, I sympathize with and lend and ear to and have had many discussions with. It is a viable cause but most that consume meat don't listen (they don't want to know)...but all that is for another time, perhaps.

Honestly dont know why I replied to begin with. Usually I just shrug and say "what ever".

HA! Too funny.
I was just thinking the same thing myself.
I posted some things in another thread and then wondered why I even bothered when I usually just click away and carry on....so I know the feeling.
